Company Description Indian Institute of Technology Tirupati (IIT Tirupati) is an autonomous premier Engineering and Technology University and an Institute of National Importance under the Institutes of Technology Act. Established in 2015 with academic support from IIT Madras, it is part of the third phase of IITs announced in 2014. The institute currently operates from a temporary campus on the Tirupati–Renigunta road while a large permanent campus is being developed at Merlapaka Village, Yerpedu (Mandal), in Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh.

Role Description The PhD Student role is a full-time, on-site position based at IIT Tirupati in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. The candidate will conduct original research under the guidance of a faculty supervisor, including literature review, experimental or theoretical work, data analysis, and publication of results in peer-reviewed venues. Day-to-day activities include participating in coursework (as required), attending seminars and research meetings, collaborating with research groups, and contributing to the academic life of the department.





The PhD Student may also assist in laboratory work, mentoring junior students, and supporting teaching activities such as tutorials or grading, while maintaining steady progress toward thesis completion and meeting academic milestones.

Qualifications

- Robust foundation in a relevant engineering, science, or technology discipline, with the ability to apply theoretical concepts to research problems.
- Demonstrated research aptitude, including literature review, problem formulation, experimental or computational methods, and data interpretation.
- Effective written and oral communication skills for preparing reports, research papers, and presentations.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within multidisciplinary research teams, with good time management and organizational skills.
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field from a recognized institution; exceptional candidates with a strong bachelor’s background may also be considered as per institute norms.
- Familiarity with relevant software tools, programming languages, or laboratory techniques appropriate to the chosen research area.
- Commitment to ethical research practices, continuous learning, and contributing to the institute’s academic and research environment.
