Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Functional Testing Specialist to join the Mobility Technology / Digital Enablement team. The role will focus on manual testing of internal travel applications, particularly Online Booking Tools (OBTs) and integrated travel-technology platforms.

Primary Objective

Own end-to-end quality assurance for reservation platforms and help ensure reliable operation of corporate travel policy engines, air and hotel booking workflows, GDS/NDC integrations, payment gateways, and downstream systems.

Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing. They will combine analytical thinking and attention to detail with effective cross-functional collaboration and a sound understanding of travel-domain processes. Prior travel-industry experience is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

- Test Planning and Design: Create, document, and maintain detailed manual test cases for internal travel applications, with particular emphasis on Online Booking Tools.
- Requirements Analysis: Understand travel business processes and translate business and technical requirements into clear, practical, and testable scenarios.
- Test Execution: Perform functional, regression, smoke, exploratory, integration, and end-to-end testing across releases and sprint cycles.
- Booking-Path Validation: Test complex, multi-tier booking journeys across air, hotel, rail, and car rental, including corporate travel policies, approval workflows, and profile synchronization.
- API and Integration Testing: Validate XML/JSON RESTful and SOAP integrations between the OBT and GDS platforms such as Sabre, Amadeus, and Travelport, as well as NDC aggregators and direct supplier connections.
- Payment and Downstream-System Validation: Verify corporate, virtual, and ghost-card processing and confirm accurate data transmission to mid-office, back-office, and expense-management systems, including SAP Concur and Chrome River.
- Defect Management: Identify, isolate, document, prioritize, and track defects in Azure DevOps or Jira,



providing clear reproduction steps, appropriate severity levels, and supporting evidence.
- Retesting and Resolution: Collaborate with development teams to resolve defects and complete retesting to confirm that fixes work as expected.
- Delivery Planning: Estimate testing effort, identify risks, and support mitigation planning to enable timely, high-quality releases.
- Agile Delivery: Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, requirement discussions, development cycles, and retrospectives, providing timely quality-assurance input.
- Stakeholder Communication: Keep Product, Technology, and business stakeholders informed about testing progress, risks, blockers, quality concerns, and release readiness.
- Data Validation: Query databases to verify backend transaction states, profile-data mapping, and Passenger Name Record (PNR) generation.
- AI-Enabled Testing: Use AI tools where appropriate to support test-case creation, test-data preparation, defect analysis, and defect summarization.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyse user feedback and improve testing processes, documentation, test coverage, and overall quality-assurance practices.

Must have

- 6-8+ years of overall software testing experience.

- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodology is a plus.

- Eagerness to learn and take ownership of tasks.
- Basic understanding of UI/UX principles.
- Familiarity with SQL, analytics tools, or wireframing tools is an added advantage.

Required Skills: The person in this role will need strong skills and experience in:

- 6 to 8 years of core software testing experience, with at least 5+ years dedicated to online tech platforms B2B and B2C
- Experience in a cross-border global role, successfully managing multiple complex projects at a global level
- Outstanding communication skills

Optional/Preferred skills

- 3 to 6 years of core software testing experience, with at least 2+ years dedicated to travel-tech platforms, corporate travel booking engines, or OTA (Online Travel Agency) ecosystems.
- Experience or working knowledge of the travel domain, especially online booking applications and travel business processes.
- Understanding of the travel lifecycle, including PNR creation, ticketing, modifications, cancellations, refunds, void windows, and corporate travel policy configurations.
- proficiency with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, SoapUI).Solid hands-on experience using test management software (e.g., Jira/Zephyr, ALM, Azure DevOps).
- Intermediate proficiency in SQL for backend database verification (joins, indexing, basic data manipulation).
- Familiarity with web debugging tools (Chrome DevTools) to analyse network traffic, errors, and payloads.
- Conceptual understanding or basic exposure to automation testing frameworks (Selenium, Playwright, or RestAssured) to help transition manual workflows to automation.

Certifications: ISTQB or equivalent software testing certification Preferred Not mandatory Work Experience: 8-10 Years of end-to-end functional testing of any online B2C/B2B product preferably travel booking systems
