As a Migration Wave Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the comprehensive planning and coordination of a series of application migrations. This role requires ensuring that all dependencies are prepared and aligned for the migration wave, managing the timing and execution of cutover activities, and maintaining smooth operations throughout the process. The position demands continuous monitoring and governance to minimize any disruptions, while facilitating communication and collaboration among various stakeholders to achieve successful migration outcomes.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead the planning and execution of migration waves, ensuring all activities are aligned with project goals.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams to address challenges and optimize migration processes.
- Monitor progress and risks, implementing mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines.
- Support junior team members by providing guidance and facilitating knowledge sharing.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in SAP Sales and Distribution (SD).
- Experience in managing complex migration projects involving multiple interdependent systems.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities to address technical and operational challenges.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to coordinate and lead teams through structured migration processes and cutover activities.
- Familiarity with application lifecycle management and change control procedures.
