Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will work on the full lifecycle of mechanical components and systems for underwater and aerial platforms, from concept to detailed design and validation. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and updating 3D models and drawings, performing basic engineering calculations, and supporting prototyping, testing, and design optimization. The role involves collaborating closely with cross-functional teams in electronics, software, and manufacturing to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability requirements.

The Mechanical Design





Engineer will also assist in documentation, design reviews, and continuous improvement of design standards and processes. This is a full-time, in office role based in the Greater Chennai Area.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Mechanical Engineering, with applied knowledge of design principles and material selection.
- Proficiency in Design Engineering and Machine Design, including component and assembly design for real-world applications.
- Experience in Product Design, focusing on functional, manufacturable, and cost-effective mechanical solutions.
- Hands-on expertise with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 3D modeling, 2D drafting, and design documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Ability to work on-site, collaborate effectively in multidisciplinary teams, and manage multiple design tasks in parallel.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, and design validation; exposure to robotics, defense, or aerospace domains is an advantage.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and commitment to safety and quality.
