ABOUT FRAY TO FORGE -

Fray To Forge (FTF) is an apparel manufacturing and product development partner that enables fashion brands to transform their creative vision into market-ready products. We work with emerging D2C labels, scaling brands, and international businesses to streamline the journey from concept and design to sampling and bulk production.

We are looking for a creative, detail-oriented, and execution-driven Fashion Designer – Team Lead to lead our design and product development function, manage client requirements, and ensure seamless coordination between design, sampling, merchandising, and manufacturing teams.

ROLE OVERVIEW -

The Fashion Designer – Team Lead will be responsible for leading the design team, assisting the team in translating client briefs into commercially viable apparel designs, overseeing technical documentation and sampling, and ensuring design accuracy throughout the product development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate combines strong creative sensibilities with technical expertise, team leadership, client management, and an understanding of apparel manufacturing processes.

- Lead, mentor, and manage the fashion design team, ensuring accountability, productivity, and quality of output.
- Allocate design projects and workloads based on team capacity, expertise, and delivery timelines.
- Establish standard operating procedures and quality checkpoints for design and product development.
- Review team deliverables and provide constructive feedback to improve design quality and technical accuracy.




- Track project progress, identify bottlenecks, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
- Participate in client discussions, design presentations, and product review meetings.
- Communicate design recommendations, technical limitations, and production-related considerations clearly.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from client onboarding to sampling and production.
- Identify opportunities to reduce sampling iterations, improve turnaround times, and minimise design-related errors.
- Maintain a repository of design assets, technical templates, approved specifications, and product development records.
- Contribute to improving FTF’s overall product development experience for its clients.

QUALIFICATIONS -

- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Fashion Design, Apparel Design, Textile Design, or a related field.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience in fashion design, apparel product development, or technical design, including experience leading or mentoring a team.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, pattern making, grading, fit, fabrics, trims, and finishing.
- Hands-on experience preparing and reviewing technical packs and measurement specifications.
- Experience managing sampling, revisions, fit approvals, and production handovers.
- Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with relevant CAD or apparel design tools is preferred.
- Strong communication, organisational, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a rapid-paced environment.
