Role Description

This is a full time, on-site Duty Doctor role based in Kovilpatti & Kalugumalai.

The Duty

Doctor will provide round-the-clock medical care, including initial assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of patients presenting with emergency and non-emergency conditions.

Responsibilities include monitoring patient status, ordering and interpreting basic investigations, prescribing medications, and coordinating with senior physicians and specialists when required. The role also involves maintaining accurate medical records, ensuring adherence to clinical protocols, and communicating clearly with patients, families, and nursing staff.





The Duty

Doctor will participate in shift-based coverage to support 24-hour operations and uphold high standards of patient safety and care.

Qualifications

- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution and valid registration with the appropriate medical council.
- Experience in emergency care, general medicine, or acute care settings, preferably in a hospital or clinic with 24-hour services.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills, including the ability to manage common medical and emergency conditions independently.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working with patients, families, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work in rotating shifts, handle high-pressure situations calmly, and maintain accurate, timely medical documentation.
- Commitment to ethical, patient-centered care, adherence to safety protocols, and continuous professional development.
- Basic knowledge of local languages is an advantage.
