What GrowthX events are
GrowthX is a community of 7,000+ people who build. Last year we ran 271 in-person events in 17 cities: buildathons with 600+ sign-ups, AI meetups, soirées, music nights, pickleball, a two-day offsite in Goa, and one weekend where we ran the same buildathon in ten cities at once.
People rate them 4.7 out of 5. When they don't, it is often because they couldn't find the venue, it started late, or there was no food. You run the events GrowthX hosts so that never happens, give members who host the rest everything they need, and make every room feel like GrowthX.
Full time, in Bengaluru. You report to the community lead.
What you will do
1. Venues. Find, book and keep the venue book for every city we run in: capacity, wifi that holds 300 laptops, power points, screen and sound, the gate, the person to call at 9pm. Many of our venues are company offices and co-working spaces that host us; keep those relationships warm and sign new ones.
2. Vendors. Food, screen and sound, photo and video, printing, transport, stays for offsites. A rate card, two backups in every city, every vendor paid on time.
3. Merch. Things people keep and wear a year later. Design it with the brand team, source it, order to lead times, keep stock in each city, ship boxes to hosts.
4. Vibe. How an event feels from the invite to the last photo: the arrival, signage, music, seating, when the food lands, the first 90 seconds in the room. Write the GrowthX event standard and help every host meet it.
5. Run the floor at our biggest events: buildathons with 100 to 600 sign-ups, the offsite, the multi-city weekends.
6. Nobody gets lost.
Every attendee knows where to go, how to get in and when it starts, in time to plan their day. If something changes, they hear early.
7. Money. A budget for each event, every rupee tracked, every receipt in, cost per attendee reported every month.
8. Read every rating. When an event goes wrong, find out why, fix it, and tell the people it went wrong for.
9. A host kit. The checklist, venue list and merch box that let a member host a good event in a city you are not in.
Who you are
- You have run in-person events of 150+ people end to end, more than once, and can show the photos and the numbers.
- You have a phone full of venue managers and vendors who pick up when you call.
- You know what things cost: food per head, a hoodie at 200 units, a day of screen and sound.
- You have taste. Rooms you set up look considered, and people take photos of them.
- You stay calm when the venue cancels at 9pm on a Friday, and you tell people before they find out.
- Weekends and travel come with the job. You take weekdays back.
Pay
₹7 lakh a year fixed, plus up to ₹1 lakh a year in bonus tied to attendee ratings and events with no logistics complaints, paid every quarter.
How to apply
- On apply Link Send three things:
- The biggest event you ran end to end: photos, how many came, the budget, and one thing that went wrong.
- A photo of something you made people want to keep: merch, a set-up, a room.
- Under 200 words on this: a 300-person buildathon in Bengaluru starts at 10am Saturday. At 7pm on Friday the venue tells you their wifi cannot take 300 laptops. What do you do in the next three hours?
