Position Overview The Test Automation Engineer will define and drive the test‑automation strategy for the Testing Factory – BNP Paribas Personal Finance’s software‑testing hub. The role involves designing maintainable automated functional tests, ensuring traceability to business requirements, integrating those tests into CI/CD pipelines, and delivering explicit test documentation and reports.

Job Responsibilities

- Propose and own a test‑automation strategy, including framework design, modularisation, and maintenance guidelines.
- Design efficient functional test scenarios and cases with full traceability to business requirements.
- Integrate automated UI and API tests into CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitLab, etc.) to provide early defect detection and rapid feedback.
- Schedule and orchestrate automated test execution following best‑practice conventions.
- Identify, document, and report software defects using the designated bug‑tracking system.
- Analyse execution results, debug failing scripts, and continuously improve test stability.
- Produce clear, concise test artefacts – test plans, test cases, test scripts, test data specifications and test reports – to support knowledge transfer and risk assessment.
- Coordinate test‑data creation and manage data‑request processes.
- Collaborate with business analysts, developers, product owners and QA peers in Agile ceremonies.
- Contribute to knowledge‑sharing sessions, tooling enhancements and adoption of AI‑assisted test‑design where appropriate.

Required Education, Skills, AND Experience (MUST‑HAVE)

- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, Banking, Finance or a related field.




- Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in UI and API test automation using Java, Selenium, Cucumber and RestAssured.
- Robust proficiency with Maven (build, dependencies, lifecycle management).
- Experience with cloud‑based cross‑browser testing platforms such as BrowserStack or DigitalAI.
- Demonstrated ability to work with Git workflows (push, pull, merge, fetch, rebase).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey test strategies and plans effectively to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Proven analytical, debugging and problem‑solving capabilities, and solid test‑planning, organisation and time‑management skills.
- Good understanding of Agile methodologies and participation in Agile ceremonies.

Preferred Education, Skills, AND Experience (NICE‑TO‑HAVE)

- Exposure to Serenity BDD (orchestration, reporting, DSLs).
- Hands‑on experience with manual API testing tools such as Postman or SoapUI.
- Experience configuring CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps or GitLab.
- Prior involvement in banking or financial services projects.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent testing qualification.
- Familiarity with AI‑assisted testing tools for test‑design or execution.
