Reports To - Head of IT

Experience - 7 to 10 years

Employment Type - Full-time, permanent THE OPPORTUNITY

Most companies are still debating AI. We have decided to build it into how we engineer, bid, deliver and operate. WOG is looking for its first AI Manager to lead AI transformation and implementation across the company - deciding where AI goes to work, building it, and making sure it is adopted safely.

You will not be one voice in a large digital team. You will own the AI agenda end to end, with direct access to the CEO and leadership, and real engineering problems to solve - in water, wastewater and green energy.

ABOUT WOG

WOG Technologies is an IP-led engineering and technology company in water, wastewater and green energy, with 190+ projects delivered across 20+ countries and 350+ engineers. The group includes Bell Cooling Towers and the WOG Green Energy businesses - Green Coal, Carbon Loops, BESS, CBG and Carbon Credits. We are building a patent portfolio and a technology-first culture, and AI is central to that.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

Set the AI agenda

- Map how work flows across the business - proposals and bids, design and engineering, procurement, project delivery, plant operations and support functions - and find where AI saves the most time and money.
- Build and own a 12-month AI roadmap with a business case for every use case, and report the value delivered.

Get the data ready

- Organise the data AI depends on - document repositories, master data, and HR, finance and project records - so that AI answers are accurate and traceable.
- Set data ownership and quality standards with each function, starting with the data behind the first use cases.

Build and ship AI solutions

- Deploy enterprise AI tools - LLM assistants, document intelligence and workflow automation - and integrate them with our HRMS, ERP, Microsoft 365 and document systems.
- Design and deploy agentic AI: agents that carry out multi-step work across our systems, such as preparing tender responses, reconciling vendor quotes or compiling management reports, with people approving the key decisions.
- Automate high-effort work such as tender review, BOQ and estimation support, document control and management reporting.
- Explore AI for plant performance: predictive maintenance, process optimisation and remote monitoring.

Make AI safe to use

- Move WOG from restricted AI use to governed adoption: approved enterprise tools, a clear AI usage policy, and no company data in unapproved platforms.
- Configure data loss prevention (Microsoft Purview DLP) and sensitivity labels so AI tools see only what they should.
- Control what AI agents can access and do: least-privilege permissions, human approval for consequential actions, and full logging.
- Assess AI vendors for security, privacy and contractual risk; keep AI use compliant with the DPDP Act 2023 and IT Act 2000.

Bring people along

- Train employees and leaders to use AI well, and build a library of approved prompts, templates and agents.
- Work hand in hand with the IT team,

which runs infrastructure and cyber security.

WHAT YOU BRING

Must have

- A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering, computer applications or a related discipline.
- 7 to 10 years in technology, digital transformation or engineering roles, including hands-on generative AI work since late 2022.
- AI work you can show us: at least two AI solutions taken to production in an organisation, with measurable results.
- Working knowledge of Python, APIs and low-code automation, and of data protection in Microsoft 365 (DLP, sensitivity labels, access controls).
- An AI certification or programme from a reputed institute (IIT, IISc, IIM, ISB or a global equivalent) or a recognised vendor (Microsoft, Google Cloud, AWS).
- Interest in engineering businesses, with understanding of the water and wastewater industry or a willingness to learn it quickly.

Positive to have

- B.E./B.Tech in Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- A cyber security certification - CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+ or Microsoft SC-401 / SC-300.
- Hands-on experience building agentic AI workflows (multi-step agents with tool access) in production.
- Postgraduate degree in AI, Machine Learning or Data Science.
- Experience in engineering, infrastructure, utilities, energy or manufacturing companies.

If you meet most of the must-haves and have shipped real AI work, apply. We hire for proven ability, not a perfect checklist.

WHY WOG

- Build it, don't maintain it: you are the first person in this role and shape how a whole company works.
- Direct line to leadership: your roadmap goes to the CEO, not through layers.
- Real-world impact and a broad canvas: water, wastewater and five green energy businesses.
