Thermo Fisher Scientific seeks a Senior Data Engineer to design, develop, and maintain enterprise data pipelines and platforms supporting global analytics and reporting. The role involves collaborating with IT and business teams to translate data requirements into technical solutions, ensuring data quality, and managing hypercare support for implementations.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain scalable data ingestion, processing, and analytics pipelines

Perform data modeling, schema design, and performance optimization to meet SLAs

Conduct requirements analysis and business process documentation with stakeholders

Support knowledge transfer, hypercare deployment, and handover to support teams

Identify and implement data platform automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement





Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent; Master's degree preferred
- 6+ years industry experience; 3+ years hands-on data engineering
- Expert SQL, relational databases, data modeling, and contemporary data warehousing
- Programming proficiency in Python, Scala, or Java for production data solutions
- Hands-on cloud platform experience, preferably AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop/Hive, Kafka, or similar distributed technologies
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills
