Position Overview

Zelis is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Engineer with strong expertise in Azure to join our Cloud Platform Engineering & Operations team. This role will primarily focus on designing, building, and modernizing cloud platforms, while collaborating with operations teams responsible for ongoing support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure and platforms across Azure and AWS.
- Design and Architect mission-critical, highly available, and resilient production workloads on Azure/AWS, ensuring scalability, security, operational excellence.
- Lead and execute end-to-end cloud migration strategies from on-premise to AWS/Azure, including assessment, architecture design, and execution.
- Build and standardize infrastructure as code (IaC) frameworks using Terraform/CDK/CloudFormation to enable repeatable & scalable provisioning.




- Collaborate with platform and operations teams to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Design and implement AI-driven and intelligent automation solutions to optimize cloud operations, monitoring, and platform efficiency.
- Implement and enforce cloud security, governance, and compliance frameworks, including IAM, network security, and policy management.
- Implement observability solutions including monitoring, logging, and alerting to ensure proactive incident detection and system reliability.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Cloud Engineering (Azure & AWS)

- Strong expertise in:

- Microsoft Azure

- Amazon Web Services (AWS)

- Containerization

- Proven experience with:

- GitHub Actions / DevOps for CI/CD Automation

- Hands-on experience in:

- Cloud migration (on-prem to Cloud preferred)

- Application modernization

- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

- Terraform / CDK / CloudFormation

- Strong understanding of:

- Networking, IAM, cloud security, and governance

- AI Adoption:

- OpenAI

- Amazon Bedrock

- ChatGPT

- Github Co-Pilot

- Scripting/programming skills (Python, Bash, or similar)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in multi-cloud environments

- Exposure to platform engineering concepts

- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Azure Monitor, CloudWatch)

- Relevant certifications:

- Azure Solutions Architect

- AWS Solutions Architect

- Azure/AWS DevOps Engineer

- Experience in enterprise-scale cloud environments
