Deputy Manager - Design (Mechanical & Electrical)

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare mechanical design information for tenders and project execution
- Understand customer technical requirements and prepare design solutions
- Handle quotation and execution design activities
- Develop and maintain departmental design metrics
- Coordinate with internal teams and external customers for technical clarifications
- Identify and implement design improvements and corrective actions
- Mentor and guide junior design engineers
- Support manufacturing and project teams during execution
- Ensure compliance with quality and industry standards

Mandatory Skills

- Minimum 10 years of experience in Transformer Mechanical Design
- Experience in Power/EHV Transformers
- Hands-on exposure to transformer ratings from 100kVA to 250MVA / 220kV and above
- Strong understanding of transformer mechanical components and design principles
- Experience in Tender Design and Execution Design
- Knowledge of BIL, VLN, and transformer-related calculations
- Proficiency in AutoCAD / Creo / SolidWorks / CATIA or similar tools




- Strong problem-solving and technical coordination skills

Preferred Skills

- Experience in transformer manufacturing companies
- Knowledge of IEC / IS standards
- Team handling and mentoring experience
- Exposure to process improvement and design optimization
- Working knowledge of ERP/SAP systems is an added advantage
- Hindi speaking ability will be an added advantage
- Strong communication skills in English and Tamil
