Job Summary

Key ResponsibilitiesDG Operation & Monitoring

- Operate Diesel Generator sets during power failures and scheduled testing

- Monitor DG parameters such as:

- Voltage

- Current

- Frequency

- Oil pressure

- Coolant temperature

- Fuel levels

- Ensure smooth synchronization and changeover operations where applicable

Preventive Maintenance

- Perform routine inspection and preventive maintenance of DG systems

- Check:

- Battery condition

- Engine oil level

- Coolant level

- Fuel system

- Belts and hoses

- Carry out periodic no-load and load testing

Electrical System Checks

- Inspect AMF/ATS panels and control systems
- Verify breaker operations and safety interlocks
- Check electrical connections and cable terminations
- Monitor earthing system condition

Fuel Management

- Monitor diesel fuel levels and consumption
- Coordinate fuel filling activities
- Maintain fuel records and logbooks

Breakdown Support

- Attend DG breakdowns and perform basic troubleshooting
- Coordinate with OEM/service vendors for major repairs
- Ensure minimum downtime during emergencies

Documentation & Reporting

- Maintain DG operation logs and maintenance records
- Record runtime hours, fuel consumption, and fault history
- Prepare daily inspection reports

Safety & Compliance





- Follow safety procedures while operating DG systems
- Ensure compliance with electrical and fire safety standards
- Maintain housekeeping in DG room and fuel storage areas
- Use PPE during maintenance and operational activities

Required Skills :

- Knowledge of Diesel Generator operation and maintenance
- Understanding of AMF/ATS panels and electrical systems
- Ability to monitor generator performance parameters
- Basic troubleshooting skills for DG and electrical faults
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices

Qualification

- ITI / Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
- DG operation certification preferred

Experience

- Minimum 2-5 years experience in DG operation and maintenance in commercial/IT buildings

Preferred Knowledge

Experience in handling:

- DG sets from 125 kVA to 2000 kVA
- AMF/ATS Panels
- Synchronization panels
- Fuel systems and battery chargers
- Critical power backup systems in IT facilities

Working Conditions

- Rotational shifts including night shifts
- Emergency standby support during power failures
- Work in DG rooms, utility areas, and electrical rooms

Reporting

Reports to:

- Facility Manager / Electrical Supervisor / Maintenance Engineer

Pay: ₹19,000.00 - ₹21,000.00 per month
