Accountant, Sr.Accountant - FMCG Operations

Location: Central Mumbai

Job Summary

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain accurate books of accounts and daily accounting entries in ERP/Tally.

- Handle Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).

- Prepare and maintain sales, purchase, and expense records.

- Manage GST compliance including:

- GST invoicing

- GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual return filing

- Input Tax Credit (ITC) reconciliation

- GST reconciliation with books and portal

- Handle TDS compliance including:

- Deduction and deposit of TDS

- Preparation and filing of TDS returns

- Issuance of TDS certificates

- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements such as PF, ESIC, Skilled Tax, and ROC-related documentation (if applicable).

- Perform bank reconciliations and vendor/customer reconciliations.

- Assist in monthly closing, MIS reporting, and financial statement preparation.

- Coordinate with auditors, tax consultants, and government authorities during audits and assessments.

- Monitor inventory accounting and stock reconciliation for FMCG products.





- Ensure proper documentation and maintenance of accounting records.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance (B.Com/M.Com preferred).
- 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in an FMCG company.
- Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, Income Tax and statutory compliance.
- Experience with Tally, Microsoft Excel, financial reporting or other accounting software.
- Good understanding of inventory accounting and FMCG distribution processes.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and communication skills.
- Experience handling high-volume transactions in FMCG/distribution businesses with individual capacity would be ideal.
- Ability to work in a team and meet compliance deadlines.
- Knowledge of audit procedures and taxation updates.
- Ready to travel to different factory locations across the country (need based)

Salary

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
