Role Description: The Assistant Professor (Product Design) will teach undergraduate courses in physical product design and related areas, including studio-based learning, project work, and theory classes. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing course materials, delivering lectures and workshops, mentoring learners on individual and group projects, and providing constructive feedback on design work. The role also involves contributing to curriculum development, participating in academic planning, engaging in research or practice-led design projects, and collaborating with colleagues on school initiatives. This is a full time, on-site role based in Kalyan. 1. Educational Qualifications
• Candidates must have a formal design education in Physical Product Design OR Industrial Design at the undergraduate and/or postgraduate level.
• A Master’s degree in Product Design or Industrial Design is mandatory.
• A Ph.
D. in Design is an add-on, but candidates without relevant formal design education in PD/ID at the Master’s level will not be considered.
• Degrees in Design Engineering, Engineering Design,



or similar technical design-focused disciplines during master's will not be considered substitutes for a Master’s degree in Product Design or Industrial Design. 2. Professional Experience
• A minimum of 5+ years of relevant industrial or design-studio practice experience in Physical Product Design or Industrial Design is expected, with emphasis on recent professional practice.
• Candidates must have worked in any company or established design studio for a minimum of two years. Any period of employment with a single company or studio that is less than two years will not be counted towards the required professional practice experience.
• Experience must demonstrate direct involvement in product design projects, from concept development through design development and detailing, as relevant to the candidate’s role.
• Experience gained exclusively through freelancing or independent consultancy alone will not be considered sufficient to meet the professional experience requirement.
• Teaching experience may be considered in addition to the required professional practice experience; it will not substitute for the mandatory industrial or studio-based experience.
