This is a hands-on leadership role: around 30–40% of your time goes to technical work (design, reviews, complex problem-solving), and the rest to delivery, people, and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities
• Delivery Leadership – Own end-to-end delivery of data pipelines, models, and data products across multiple teams, ensuring timely execution, quality outcomes, and adherence to functional and non-functional requirements (performance, reliability, security, cost).
• Technical Leadership – Set technical direction for the data platform, guide design decisions on ingestion, transformation, and data modelling, and drive engineering best practices, automation, modernization, and technical debt reduction. Contribute 30–40% of your time to hands-on technical delivery.
• People & Team Management – Lead, mentor, and develop data engineering teams. Set SMART goals, measure performance objectively, give constructive feedback, and build capability, succession plans, and a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Stakeholder Management – Act as the primary interface for business and technology stakeholders, translating business needs into data solutions while managing expectations and delivery commitments.
• Data Quality, Governance & Compliance – Ensure adherence to development standards, data quality metrics, governance processes, security and access controls, and deployment readiness.
• Continuous Improvement & DataOps – Drive CI/CD adoption for data pipelines,



automated testing, monitoring, and operational efficiency, with KPI-driven optimization of platform performance and cost. Required Skills & Experience
• 10 – 12 years of experience in data engineering or software development, including 3–5 years in a technical leadership role.
• Snowflake (mandatory): strong hands-on experience, including data modelling, complex SQL, query and performance optimization, cost management, and security/access control.
• Hands-on experience in data modelling, large-scale data management, data quality, and data lifecycle management.
• Experience with at least one ELT/ETL or orchestration tool, such as dbt, Fivetran, or Azure Data Factory.
• Proven delivery management with distributed teams: strong grasp of SDLC and Agile, estimation techniques, project planning, progress tracking, and dependency and risk management.
• Experience with contemporary engineering practices, including CI/CD, DevOps, version control, and testing strategies for data pipelines.
• Ability to guide teams through technical decisions and resolve complex technical issues, with an Agile and product mindset and ownership of delivery, quality, and outcomes.
• Strong stakeholder and team management skills, with fact
- and metrics-based decision-making and the ability to negotiate with business sponsors to secure value outcomes.
• Experience with project and service management tools such as JIRA and ServiceNow, and proven experience in change and incident management. Preferred Skills




• Hands-on experience with dbt, Fivetran, and Azure Data Factory.
• Experience with a cloud platform (Azure preferred; AWS or GCP also relevant).
• Knowledge of data architecture and design patterns (e.g. dimensional modelling, layered/medallion architecture) and API-based integrations.
• Familiarity with DevOps tools and release and test automation.
