Marine Engineer KBR is seeking an experienced Marine Engineer to join our Chennai office. The role will support the design, analysis, specification, and engineering of marine systems and equipment supports/foundations for offshore and marine facilities, including vessels, FPSOs, offshore platforms substructures, and marine terminals. The position involves working across FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects while ensuring compliance with international marine standards and client requirements. And shall also have good knowledge on wave studies, hydrodynamic analysis, Shore protection, sedimentation studies, port planning metocean assessment. Responsibilities
• Perform engineering design and analysis for marine and offshore facilities.
• Develop and review engineering deliverables related to:
• Pumps and compressors foundations
• Jetty / Wharf Design
• Fender Design
• Berthing and Mooring dolphin design
• Breakwater structures
• Coastal protection structures
• Marine terminals
• Offshore platform substructures.
• Trestle and its foundations
• Ship impact analysis
• Seismic analysis for marine structures and foundations
• Pile foundations design (including raker piles)
• Fatigue analysis and Assessment report
• Marine Structural general Arrangement
• Connection details
• Prepare and review engineering calculations, specifications, datasheets, material requisitions, and technical documents.
• Support package engineering, and vendor document reviews.
• Coordinate with procurement, construction, commissioning, and operations teams.
• Interface with clients, vendors, shipyards, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, class requirements,



and international marine regulations.
• Participate in technical reviews, safety studies, constructability reviews.
• Provide troubleshooting support and technical guidance during project execution.
• Support project planning, scheduling, cost estimation, and proposal activities.
• Ensure timely delivery of quality engineering deliverables in accordance with project schedules.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge-sharing activities. Qualifications including Required Education, Experience & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, Civil Engineering with Specialisation in Ocean Engineering, Coastal Engineering, Harbour Engineering, Marine structures, Naval Architecture, or related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Marine Engineering and Offshore Projects.
• Extensive experience in:
• Offshore Oil & Gas
• Offshore Platforms substructures
• Marine Terminals, structures and foundations
• Coastal structures
• Robust experience in FEED, Detailed Engineering, EPC, and Brownfield projects.
• Thorough knowledge of:
• IMO Regulations, DNV, ABS
• Other applicable class and international standards
• Experience in marine equipment design, specification, selection, and package engineering.
• Proficiency in engineering and analysis software including:
• SACS
• STAAD.
