Position Requirements

Responsibilities • Design, build, and maintain reusable GitLab pipelines independently, ensuring scalable CI flows that accelerate delivery and improve overall pipeline performance • Own day-to-day CI infrastructure decisions, driving reliability, maintainability, and optimization of GitLab-based workflows in close collaboration with developers and other stakeholders • Collaborate with developers on testability and release readiness, aligning GitLab pipeline configurations, Cypress and/or pytest automation, and test coverage to support high-quality, timely releases • Root-cause pipeline failures in GitLab and optimize pipeline duration and reliability, analyzing logs, configurations, and execution flows to reduce bottlenecks and prevent recurring issues • Build and maintain automation suites using Cypress and/or pytest, creating robust, reusable tests that support continuous integration and consistent quality across releases • Define and execute test coverage across API, UI, integration, and end-to-end layers, leveraging Cypress and/or pytest within GitLab pipelines to validate system behavior comprehensively • Integrate and regularly run automated tests within GitLab CI pipelines, ensuring rapid feedback loops and consistent validation of changes throughout the development lifecycle • Monitor, review, and refine existing GitLab pipelines and CI configurations, identifying opportunities to streamline stages, reduce execution time, and improve stability • Document CI pipeline structures, automation suites, and test coverage strategies in the context of GitLab, Cypress, and pytest usage, supporting transparency, knowledge sharing, and easier onboarding

Team Description

Requirements • Strong experience with 4+ years in test automation engineering, including meaningful CI/CD ownership across multiple projects • Solid, independent experience writing, organizing, and maintaining automated test suites using Cypress and/or pytest in production environments • Strong proficiency with designing, configuring, and optimizing CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Azure DevOps • Strong programming skills in Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Go for building robust and maintainable test automation solutions • Practical experience building, extending, and supporting test automation frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Appium, REST Assured, pytest, JUnit, or TestNG • Practical experience applying contemporary test strategy concepts, including the testing pyramid, risk-based testing, and structured test coverage planning • Strong experience with release orchestration, deployment automation, and integrating automated testing throughout the delivery lifecycle • Analytical and solution-oriented mindset with strong problem-solving skills in complex, distributed CI/CD and test automation environments • Collaborative working style with the ability to partner effectively with developers, DevOps engineers, QA peers, and product stakeholders • Transparent communication skills for explaining test strategy, automation design, and CI/CD pipeline decisions to both technical and non-technical audiences • Comfortable working proficiency in English within a multicultural, distributed team environment • Practical exposure to ArgoCD or GitOps-based workflows for managing deployments (nice-to-have) • Experience with test data management practices and environment strategy for reliable and consistent automated testing (nice-to-have) • Familiarity with performance testing or API contract testing tools and approaches (nice-to-have)
