You will drive an automation-first operating model, turning recurring operational tasks into reliable, reusable software and workflows. You will use AI-assisted design, development, and automation to accelerate engineering work, improve troubleshooting, and reduce manual effort while maintaining production safety and engineering quality. This role combines independent technical ownership, production reliability, and collaboration across development, infrastructure, security, and cloud service teams. Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
• Independently design, build, test, and operate tools and frameworks that improve the reliability and usability of NonProduction environments.
• Develop self-service capabilities for environment provisioning, service onboarding, deployment, configuration, health validation, and troubleshooting.
• Build reusable automation libraries, APIs, command-line tools, and workflow integrations with clear interfaces, documentation, and ownership.
• Engineer and improve development, integration, test, and release-validation pipelines, including build orchestration, artifact promotion, and failure diagnosis.
• Automate NonProduction environment lifecycle activities, including provisioning, upgrades, configuration synchronization, drift detection, and cleanup.
• Build observability capabilities using metrics, logs, traces, deployment events, and environment metadata to explain platform and application health.
• Develop dashboards and diagnostic tools that correlate service versions, configuration, feature flags, dependencies, and recent changes.
• Define and measure the reliability of DevEx services and NonProduction platforms, including availability, provisioning time, pipeline success, deployment duration, and recovery time.
• Build automated health checks and validation frameworks that detect environment issues and provide actionable diagnostic evidence.
• Develop AI-assisted tools, skills, or agents for pipeline failure analysis, log investigation, environment comparison, knowledge retrieval, and guided troubleshooting.
• Evaluate AI-assisted capabilities against representative scenarios for accuracy, usefulness, and safe failure handling; validate outcomes before adoption.
• Implement secure automation with appropriate permissions, secrets handling, auditability, recovery procedures, and approval boundaries.
• Improve NonProduction resource utilization through rightsizing, lifecycle policies, and automated identification of idle or orphaned resources.
• Support designated NonProduction platforms, investigate recurring issues,

and turn support findings into durable tooling and framework improvements.
• Partner with developers, QA, release engineering, SRE, and security teams to identify friction and prioritize improvements.
• Evaluate echnical tradeoffs across reliability, performance, scalability, security, cost, and operational complexity; document design decisions and recommend solutions aligned with service objectives and delivery needs.
• Participate in the scheduled oncall rotation and support Production environments, including after-hours coverage; triage alerts, respond to incidents, coordinate escalations, restore service, and ensure clear handovers and follow-up actions.
• Maintain technical documentation, onboarding guides, runbooks, and examples; contribute to code reviews and engineering standards. Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Professional experience in platform engineering, developer tooling, SRE, DevOps, infrastructure software, or backend software engineering, including ownership of production systems.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, Java, or a comparable language, with experience building maintainable tools, services, or frameworks.
• Experience designing reusable interfaces, integrating APIs, and developing automated tests.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, Git, containers, Kubernetes, and at least one major cloud platform(OCI, AWS, or Azure).
• Experience developing infrastructure-as-code modules using Terraform or an equivalent tool.
• Experience building, troubleshooting, or improving CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing observability using metrics, logs, dashboards, or distributed tracing.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across application dependencies, Kubernetes, infrastructure, and networking fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to identify developer friction or repetitive support work and address it through automation or self-service capabilities.
• Practical experience using AI-assisted development tools, including reviewing generated code and validating results.
• Ability to independently deliver well-scoped projects and collaborate effectively with users of the platform. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with OCI, including OKE, IAM, networking, Object Storage, and DevOps tooling.
• Experience building internal developer platforms, portals, command-line tools, or workflow frameworks.
• Familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, centralized logging, and telemetry correlation.
• Experience with workplace metadata, configuration drift analysis, feature-flag tooling, artifact/BOM management, or deployment comparison.
• Experience building AI-assisted diagnostic tools, retrieval-based knowledge systems, or agents integrated with operational APIs.
• Familiarity with agent evaluation, permission boundaries, human approval workflows, and safe tool execution.
• Experience with event-driven automation, asynchronous workflows, idempotency, retries, and partial-failure recovery.
• Experience supporting shared development and test environments with multiple teams or tenants.
• Experience measuring developer productivity and using adoption, reliability, and support data to guide improvements.
• Familiarity with NonProduction cloud cost optimization and resource lifecycle management.
