URGENT HIRING – CONSULTANT GENERAL MEDICINE

POSITION

Consultant General Physician / General Medicine Specialist

QUALIFICATION
MD General Medicine
DNB General Medicine
Valid NMC / Tamil Nadu Medical Council Registration

EXPERIENCE
Experienced candidates preferred
Candidates with robust OPD, IPD and emergency medicine experience will be given preference

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct General Medicine OPD consultations and manage IPD patients
Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
Manage diabetes, hypertension, infections, respiratory disorders and other general medical cases
Attend to medical emergencies and provide timely stabilization
Conduct regular inpatient rounds and monitor patient progress
Review and interpret laboratory investigations, ECG and other diagnostic reports
Develop appropriate treatment plans and monitor response to treatment
Manage medical complications in post-operative and critically ill patients
Provide pre-operative medical evaluation and clearance when required
Coordinate with Cardiologists, Neurologists, Nephrologists, Gastroenterologists, Surgeons, Intensivists and other specialists




Counsel patients and attendants regarding diagnosis, treatment, medication, lifestyle modification and follow-up
Maintain accurate case sheets, prescriptions, progress notes and discharge summaries
Participate in emergency/on-call duties as per hospital requirements
Follow hospital, infection-control, patient-safety and clinical protocols

REQUIRED SKILLS
Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
Good knowledge of acute and emergency medicine
Ability to independently manage OPD and IPD patients
Robust clinical decision-making abilities
Excellent communication and patient counselling skills
Positive multidisciplinary coordination
Professional, ethical and patient-centric approach
