Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Assistant Nursing Superintendent to support the Nursing Superintendent in managing nursing services, supervising nursing staff, and ensuring high standards of patient care. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating nursing activities, maintaining clinical quality and safety standards, and ensuring compliance with hospital policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist the Nursing Superintendent in the overall administration and management of nursing services.
- Supervise nursing staff and ensure effective nursing care across hospital departments.
- Monitor patient care standards and ensure adherence to hospital policies, clinical protocols, and infection control practices.
- Prepare duty rosters, manage staff allocation, and ensure adequate nursing coverage across shifts.
- Conduct regular rounds to assess nursing care quality, patient safety, and staff performance.
- Ensure proper maintenance of nursing records, patient documentation, and departmental registers.
- Coordinate with doctors, department heads, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth patient care delivery.
- Support the training, orientation, and professional development of nursing staff.
- Monitor the availability and appropriate use of nursing equipment, medical supplies, and other resources.
- Handle patient and attendant concerns related to nursing services and facilitate timely resolution.
- Ensure compliance with NABH standards,



hospital protocols, biomedical waste management, and infection prevention guidelines, as applicable.
- Assist in nursing audits, quality improvement initiatives, incident reporting, and corrective action implementation.
- Support emergency preparedness and ensure nursing staff are equipped to respond effectively to critical situations.
- Maintain discipline, teamwork, accountability, and professional conduct among nursing personnel.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- B.Sc. Nursing or M.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institution.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant nursing experience, preferably in a multispecialty hospital.
- Valid nursing registration with the applicable State Nursing Council.
- Strong leadership, team management, and staff coordination skills.
- Good knowledge of nursing administration, patient safety, and infection control practices.
- Familiarity with hospital quality standards and NABH requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in nursing documentation, reporting, and hospital information systems.
