AIIMS NORCET 13 2027: tentative dates and notification status

NORCET stands for Nursing Officer Recruitment Common Eligibility Test. AIIMS New Delhi conducts it for participating institutions. It is a recruitment route for qualified nurses, rather than an entrance examination for a B.Sc. Nursing course.

NORCET 13 eligibility: what to check before applying

Earlier-cycle reference, not final 2027 eligibility: AIIMS’s NORCET-8 advertisement, Notice 34/2025, accepted recognised B.Sc./Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing with nursing registration, or GNM with registration and two years’ qualifying experience in a hospital with at least 50 beds. The AIIMS age range was 18–30, with applicable relaxations. NORCET-13 may set different conditions.

Firstly, build your own eligibility folder now. For example, keep qualification certificates, council registration, experience records and category documents together. Check that names and dates agree across documents. If you rely on experience, ask your employer for a certificate that clearly records the employment period and hospital details.

Secondly, once applications open, read the exact cut-off date for qualification, registration, experience and age. Do not assume that finishing a course before the examination is enough. Therefore, if a condition is unclear, contact the authority named in the advertisement before paying the fee.

Selection process, exam pattern and syllabus preparation

The earlier notice used a qualifying preliminary examination followed by a mains examination and document checks. Its preliminary paper had 100 questions in 90 minutes; mains had 160 questions in 180 minutes. Wrong answers attracted a one-third-mark deduction.



These are historical practice benchmarks; the NORCET-13 notice must confirm the final pattern.

The following is Kanika’s suggested revision framework, not an official NORCET 13 syllabus. Use it to organise study while waiting for the detailed scheme.

- Fundamentals and safety: assessment, nursing procedures, infection prevention, documentation and safe medication administration.
- Medical-surgical nursing: common emergencies, fluid balance, respiratory care, cardiovascular problems and priority interventions.
- Specialty nursing: maternal health, child health, mental health and community nursing.
- Supporting subjects: anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, nutrition, research and nursing management.
- Test skills: comprehension, reasoning, time management and careful reading of clinical scenarios.

For example, in case questions, identify the immediate problem before looking at the answers. Then compare the safest first action with interventions that can wait. Keep an error notebook with three columns: the clue you missed, why your answer failed and the rule you will use next time.

A practical weekly revision routine

Firstly, choose two nursing topics each week, complete short question sets and revisit mistakes after a gap. Add one timed mixed test when you can review every answer afterwards. Track recurring mistakes by subject because a single score can hide a weak topic.

Nursing Officer salary, application fee and vacancies

The earlier advertisement placed Nursing Officer posts at Pay Level 7. Actual earnings depend on allowances, posting and deductions; a pay level is not an in-hand salary promise. For NORCET-13, verify the advertised pay and service conditions.

The NORCET-13 application fee, exemptions and vacancy total need confirmation in the detailed notice. Budget only after checking the current category-specific fee and any payment charges.

Therefore, before comparing job offers or planning expenses, read the institution’s own appointment terms. Keep recruitment fees separate from optional coaching fees. Paying for a preparation course does not secure an examination seat or a government appointment.

How to apply when the NORCET-13 window opens

- Firstly, visit the official AIIMS examinations website and locate the NORCET-13 notice.

- Read the current eligibility, participating-institute rules, dates and upload instructions.

- Prepare readable documents and check your personal details against your certificates.

- Complete registration through the official portal when it is available.

- Preview the application carefully, pay the applicable official fee and retain the receipt.

- Finally, save the submitted form and follow official status, correction and admit-card notices.
