Merchandiser – Leather Goods (Manufacturing & Export)

Salary: ₹40,000–₹55,000 per month (based on experience and efficiency)
Experience: 5–10 years in leather goods merchandising and exports

About the Role:

Stichwell Exports Pvt. Ltd. is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Merchandiser – Leather Goods to manage the complete merchandising cycle for leather bags, wallets, belts, and accessories, from order confirmation and product development to production follow-up and final shipment.

The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of leather goods manufacturing, international buyer coordination, product costing, sampling, quality control, and export order management.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Buyer Communication & Order Management

- Handle enquiries, product development discussions, pricing, and negotiations with international buyers.
- Process purchase orders and ensure all specifications, quantities, prices, and delivery schedules are clearly understood.
- Maintain regular communication with buyers regarding approvals, order status, and shipment timelines.

2. Product Development & Sampling

- Coordinate with design and sample departments for new product development.
- Arrange prototype, counter, and pre-production samples according to buyer requirements.
- Ensure timely sample submission, approval follow-up, and implementation of buyer feedback.

3. Costing & Pricing

- Prepare accurate product costing, including leather,



fittings, labour, overheads, and logistics.
- Negotiate prices while maintaining order profitability.
- Maintain costing sheets, quotations, and product price records.

4. Production Coordination

- Coordinate with cutting, stitching, finishing, packing, and production teams.
- Monitor production progress against shipment schedules.
- Identify bottlenecks, resolve operational issues, and ensure timely order completion.

5. Raw Material & Accessories Coordination

- Coordinate with Purchase and Stores for leather, lining, zippers, fittings, hardware, and packaging materials.
- Ensure timely material availability and compliance with buyer specifications.

6. Quality Assurance

- Coordinate with the QC team to maintain buyer quality standards.
- Follow up on inline and final inspections.
- Resolve quality issues and ensure corrective actions are implemented.

7. Export Documentation & Shipment

- Coordinate with logistics and documentation teams for export shipments.
- Follow up on packing lists, invoices, shipping instructions, and other required documentation.
- Liaise with freight forwarders to support on-time shipment.

8. Team Coordination

- Guide junior merchandisers and merchandising assistants.




- Maintain accurate order records and provide regular updates to management.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Fashion, Leather Technology, or a related field preferred.
- 5–10 years of relevant merchandising experience in the leather goods manufacturing and export industry.
- Practical knowledge of leather bags, wallets, belts, and accessories manufacturing.
- Experience handling international buyers and export orders.

Required Skills:

- Strong understanding of leather goods production processes and product development.
- Excellent buyer communication, negotiation, and coordination skills.
- Knowledge of product costing, leather, fittings, and accessories.
- Ability to manage multiple orders and strict shipment deadlines.
- Positive working knowledge of MS Excel, ERP systems, and email communication.
- Strong follow-up, problem-solving, and time-management abilities.

- Timely sample submission and buyer approvals.
- On-time production completion and shipment.
- Buyer satisfaction and repeat business.
- Cost control and order profitability.
- Quality compliance and reduction in rejection rates.
