Job Title: Cath Lab Technician

1. Job Summary

The Cath Lab Technician assists cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures. The technician is responsible for preparing the catheterization laboratory, operating cath lab equipment, monitoring patient parameters, maintaining a sterile environment, and ensuring compliance with patient safety and radiation protection protocols.

2. Roles and Responsibilities

- Prepare the cath lab, instruments, equipment, and consumables before procedures.
- Assist cardiologists during coronary angiography, angioplasty (PCI), pacemaker implantation, and other cardiac procedures.
- Operate and assist with fluoroscopy, imaging systems, and hemodynamic monitoring equipment within the scope of authorization.
- Monitor and record ECG, blood pressure, oxygen saturation, and other vital parameters during procedures.
- Ensure proper patient identification, documentation, and pre-procedure preparation.
- Maintain aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
- Follow radiation safety protocols and use appropriate protective equipment.
- Ensure the availability of catheters, guidewires, balloons, stents, contrast media, and emergency supplies.
- Assist the clinical team during emergencies, including cardiac arrest and other critical situations.
- Maintain accurate procedure records, equipment logs, and inventory.
- Perform routine equipment checks and report technical faults promptly.




- Follow biomedical waste management guidelines and hospital policies.
- Coordinate with cardiologists, cath lab nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Assist with equipment cleaning, disinfection, and preventive maintenance.

3. Educational Qualification

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiac Care Technology, or an equivalent recognized qualification.
- Relevant cath lab training is preferred.

4. Experience

- Previous experience in a cardiac catheterization laboratory is preferred.

5. Required Skills

- Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and ECG.
- Understanding of coronary angiography and angioplasty procedures.
- Knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and cath lab equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to respond effectively during emergencies.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety.

6. Working Conditions

- Hospital-based clinical role.
- Rotational shifts, night duty, and emergency on-call duties may be required.
- Must follow radiation safety, infection control, and occupational safety standards.

7. Key Performance Indicators

- Compliance with patient safety and infection control protocols.
- Timely preparation of the cath lab and equipment.
- Accuracy of documentation and inventory records.
- Compliance with radiation protection standards.
- Effective assistance during cardiac procedures.

Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
