Job Description – Head of Department (HOD) – Physical Education

Role Overview

Campus K International School is seeking a energetic and experienced HOD – Physical Education to lead the PE department, develop a comprehensive sports programme, and promote physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and holistic student development.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the Physical Education department, including PE teachers and sports coaches.
- Plan, implement, and review the PE curriculum in alignment with the school's international curriculum framework.
- Develop and oversee sports programmes catering to students of different ages, abilities, and interests.
- Organise inter-house, inter-school, and external sporting competitions and events.
- Identify and nurture sporting talent while encouraging inclusive participation.
- Monitor teaching quality, student progress, and departmental performance.
- Manage sports facilities, equipment, resources, budgets, and activity schedules.
- Ensure student safety, appropriate supervision, and adherence to safeguarding policies.




- Collaborate with school leadership, teachers, parents, and external sports organisations.
- Promote a positive sporting culture focused on fitness, discipline, teamwork, and wellbeing.

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a relevant discipline; B.P.Ed./M.P.Ed. preferred.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in Physical Education and school sports.
- Prior experience in departmental leadership or sports programme management preferred.
- Experience in an international school or familiarity with Cambridge/IGCSE curricula will be an advantage.
- Relevant coaching certifications and first-aid/CPR certification preferred.
