Project Name: CCI-Boys Home

Job Summary

SPID is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Counsellor to support the emotional, psychological, and social well-being of children residing at its Child Care Institution (CCI – Boys Home). The Counsellor will provide individual and group counselling, conduct psychosocial assessments, support behavioural development, and work closely with the CCI team to ensure a safe, supportive, and child-friendly environment in accordance with child protection laws and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities

· Conduct psychosocial assessments.

· Provide individual and group counselling.

· Support children affected by trauma, abuse, neglect, substance abuse, or emotional distress.

· Develop therapeutic intervention plans.

· Conduct life skills and emotional resilience sessions.

· Support crisis intervention and suicide prevention.

· Assist children in behavioural management.

· Counsel parents and families before restoration.

· Maintain confidential counselling records.





· Refer children requiring psychiatric care or specialized treatment.

· Conduct awareness programmes on mental health.

· Participate in multidisciplinary case reviews.

Required Skills & Qualifications

· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Psychology, Counselling Psychology, Social Work, or a related field, as applicable to the role.

· Knowledge of child psychology, psychosocial support, and child protection systems.

· Valuable communication, interpersonal, and counselling skills.

· Ability to work sensitively with children from vulnerable backgrounds.

· Strong documentation, report-writing, and case-record management skills.

· Basic computer proficiency, including MS Word, Excel, and email.

· Commitment to child rights, safeguarding, confidentiality, and professional ethics.

Experience

· Preferably 1 years of relevant experience in counselling, child welfare, psychosocial support, or working with children in NGOs or Child Care Institutions.

Salary

Your monthly salary will be ₹20,000, and after PF deduction and other applicable deductions, your cash-in-hand salary will be ₹14,250.
