Role Summary

The Senior Planner develops, coordinates, and controls maintenance planning and scheduling for a soda ash and calcium chloride plant. The role makes sure every job is properly planned, resources and materials are ready, and schedules match plant priorities, so maintenance is safe, efficient, and causes the least possible downtime.

Key Responsibilities

Planning and scheduling

Develop detailed plans and schedules for preventive, corrective, predictive, and breakdown maintenance.

Prepare weekly, monthly, shutdown, and turnaround schedules with maintenance, operations, engineering, and reliability.

Job planning

Create job plans covering scope, manpower, duration, tools, materials, spares, permits, and documents.

Review notifications and work orders, set priorities, and make sure jobs are ready before scheduling.

Coordination and execution

Agree equipment availability, isolations, and permits with operations.

Monitor schedule execution, find delays, and coordinate recovery actions.

Shutdowns and turnarounds

Plan and coordinate major shutdowns and turnarounds, including scope, sequencing, resource loading, critical path, and progress reporting.

Systems, materials, and KPIs

Keep planning data accurate in SAP PM or the applicable CMMS.

Coordinate spares and materials with warehouse and procurement.

Track KPIs such as schedule compliance, backlog, planned vs unplanned work, and shutdown performance.

Improvement and budgets

Improve planning processes, job plans, task lists, and scheduling practice.

Provide planning input to maintenance budgets, annual plans,



and resource forecasts.

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering, or a closely related discipline.

Minimum 10 years in maintenance planning and scheduling in chemical, petrochemical, oil and gas, fertilizer, or process manufacturing.

Hands-on experience with SAP PM or a similar CMMS, and Primavera P6 or equivalent scheduling software.

Proven experience planning shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance.

Preferred

Direct experience in soda ash or calcium chloride plants.

Certification in maintenance planning, Primavera P6, SAP PM, project management, or turnaround management.

Experience coordinating mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation work.

Working Conditions

The role is based in the maintenance planning office, with regular visits to plant areas involving noise, heat, dust, and chemical hazards. Appropriate PPE is mandatory in the process area. Extended hours are expected during shutdowns and turnarounds.

Overseas assignment: Saudi Arabia. Recruitment and interviews in Gujarat.
