Om Tubes & Fittings Industries is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Procurement Trainee to join our dynamic procurement team. This is an exceptional opportunity for fresh engineering graduates to build a solid foundation in industrial procurement, vendor management, and global supply chain operations. The selected candidate will work closely with our senior procurement professionals, gaining practical exposure to sourcing strategies, technical documentation, supplier negotiations, and cross-functional coordination.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering Drawing Interpretation

–

Read and interpret General Arrangement Drawings (GAD) and technical engineering drawings to identify component specifications, dimensions, and procurement requirements accurately.

▸

Sourcing & Material Procurement

–

Assist the procurement team in identifying and sourcing materials, spare parts, and industrial equipment aligned with client specifications and project timelines.

▸

Vendor Coordination & RFQ Management

–

Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for Request for Quotation (RFQ) submissions, timely follow-ups, and preliminary price negotiations to ensure competitive pricing.

▸

Procurement Documentation

–

Prepare, maintain, and update purchase orders, quotation records, and procurement files using MS Word and MS Excel, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company standards.

ComparativeAnalysis of Quotations

–

Support the team in evaluating vendor quotations and preparing detailed comparative statements to facilitate informed sourcing decisions.

– Draft and manage professional correspondence with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders via

email, addressing procurement queries and status updates efficiently.





▸ Delivery & Supply Chain Tracking

– Monitor and track delivery schedules, flag potential delays proactively, and coordinate with relevant

teams to ensure timely supply of materials. Quality Compliance Documentation

– Assist in collating and maintaining Material Test Certificates (MTC) and other quality compliance

documentation in accordance with project and client requirements.

▸ Cross-Functional Coordination

– Liaise with the sales, logistics, and operations teams to facilitate seamless order execution and resolve

any procurement-related bottlenecks promptly.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

▸ Educational Background: Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering

(preferred); related engineering disciplines may be considered.

▸ Experience Level: Open to freshers and candidates with up to 1 year of relevant experience.

▸ Technical Drawing Proficiency: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret GAD (General Arrangement

Drawings) and engineering schematics is mandatory.

▸ Computer Skills: Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and standard office productivity tools; familiarity

with ERP systems is an added advantage.

▸ Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English — must be capable

of drafting clear, professional emails, reports, and procurement documents.

▸ Domain Knowledge: Basic understanding of industrial equipment, spare parts, or engineering

components will be considered a significant advantage.

▸ Professional Attributes: High attention to detail, analytical thinking, proactive attitude, and a strong

willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced setting.
