Assistant Manager / Manager – Air Freight Operations

Location: Mumbai

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced Air Freight Operations professional to manage end-to-end air import and export shipments, coordinate with airlines and overseas agents, and ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant cargo movement.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end air freight import and export operations, from booking to final delivery.
- Coordinate with airlines, GSAs, overseas agents, transporters, customs brokers, and customers.
- Handle shipment bookings, documentation, pre-alerts, and cargo tracking.
- Coordinate customs clearance, delivery schedules, and shipment status updates.
- Negotiate with airlines and service providers to ensure competitive rates and space availability.
- Monitor shipment milestones and resolve operational issues to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain robust relationships with overseas partners and vendors.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, customer requirements,



and applicable regulations.
- Monitor operational costs, service quality, and profitability.
- Coordinate with Sales, Pricing, and Customer Service teams to ensure smooth execution.

Eligibility Criteria

- Graduate in any discipline; MBA preferred.
- Minimum 8+ years of experience in air freight operations within the freight forwarding industry.
- Strong knowledge of air import and export operations.
- Experience in airline coordination, overseas agent handling, customs clearance, and shipment documentation.
- Good understanding of operational costs, customer service, and profitability.
- Strong communication, coordination, problem-solving, and team management skills.
