Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and leadership-driven Optometrist (3 to 8 years of experience) to manage clinical operations, primary eye diagnostics, and patient consultation at our facility located on Thanisandra Main Road, Bangalore. The ideal candidate will combine clinical precision with strong interpersonal skills to deliver superior eyecare and guide junior optical staff.

Key Responsibilities

- Advanced Refraction & Diagnostics: Perform comprehensive visual examinations, binocular vision evaluations, objective/subjective refractions, and anterior/posterior segment screenings.
- Specialty Contact Lens Fitting: Assess and fit specialized contact lenses (toric, multifocal, rigid gas-permeable) and handle complex fittings.
- Clinical Operations & Quality Control: Oversee refraction room standards, ensure accuracy in prescription delivery, and maintain calibration/sanitization of all optical instruments.
- Customer & Patient Counseling: Advise patients on optimal lens technology (e.g., progressive lenses, anti-reflective coatings, digital strain filters) based on visual needs and lifestyle.
- Ocular Health Screening & Referrals: Identify early signs of ocular diseases (e.g., glaucoma, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy) and coordinate timely referrals with Ophthalmologists.
- Team Mentorship:



Supervise and mentor junior optometrists and optical sales assistants to maintain high clinical and customer service benchmarks.
- Record Management: Maintain digital patient records, optical prescriptions, and diagnostic logs accurately.

Qualifications & Requirements

- Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Optometry (B.Optom / M.Optom) from a recognized university.
- Experience: 3 to 8 years of post-qualification clinical or retail optometry experience.
- Languages:
- Fluency in English and Kannada (essential for local patient consultation in Thanisandra/North Bangalore).
- Working knowledge of Hindi is a strong advantage.
- Registration: Registration with the Optometry Council of India (OCI) or local optometric body preferred.

Technical Skills & Personal Attributes

- Expertise in operating Auto-Refractometers, Phoropters, Slit Lamps, Lensometers, and Tonometer equipment.
- Strong leadership, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
- High clinical accuracy, detail orientation, and a patient-first approach.
