JOB DESCRIPTION – PRODUCTION ENGINEER

Department: Production
Designation: Production Engineer
Reports To: Production Manager / Plant Manager

1. Job Purpose

To manage and monitor daily production activities, ensure product quality, achieve production targets, maintain machine efficiency, and ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures.

2. Key Responsibilities

- Production Planning: Plan and execute daily production activities according to production schedules and customer requirements.
- Production Monitoring: Monitor production processes to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
- Quality Control: Ensure products meet required quality standards and specifications.
- Machine Operations: Monitor machine performance and coordinate with the maintenance team to minimize downtime.
- Manpower Management: Allocate work to operators and workers and ensure efficient utilization of manpower.
- Process Improvement: Identify production problems and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and reduce wastage.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure employees follow workplace safety rules and use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Inventory Control:



Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods to avoid production delays.
- Documentation: Maintain production reports, rejection reports, downtime records, and other relevant documents.
- Coordination: Coordinate with the Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Purchase departments for smooth production operations.
- Housekeeping: Maintain cleanliness and organization in the production area as per 5S standards.
- Reporting: Report production progress, machine breakdowns, quality issues, and other operational concerns to the Production Manager.

3. Required Qualifications

- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or a related Engineering discipline.
- Relevant experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred.
