The qualifications and remuneration come directly from the recruitment table on page 1.
5. Application deadline and submission
This is particularly important.
The notice says applications must reach the specified location on or before 20 August 2026, up to 5:00 p.m. Applications received after the deadline will not be considered.
Where to submit
The hard copy of the application, along with self-attested photocopies of certificates, must reach:
Project Room (Ms. Leena)
Pediatric Office
Department of Pediatrics
Block D, Level 4
GMCH, Chandigarh
The notice specifically says the application has to reach this location by the deadline.
Significant practical point
It is not enough merely to send the application before 5 p.m. on the final day—the advertisement places responsibility on the candidate to ensure that the application reaches the designated location on time.
6. Documents you need to attach
The notice lists the following documents:
- CV/resume
- Should include email ID and mobile number
- Age proof
- Along with a recent passport-size photograph
- Qualification certificate(s)
- Experience certificates
- Category certificate, where applicable
- NOC from previous employer
The application form on page 3 also asks for self-attested copies of:
- Date-of-birth proof
- Qualifications
- Reference letters
- NOC, if applicable
- Resume
7. Age relaxation
Age relaxation is available according to ICMR/Government rules for:
- SC
- ST
- OBC
However, the candidate must produce the appropriate certificate to claim the relaxation.
So, although the normal upper age limit is 35 years, eligible reserved-category candidates may receive relaxation under the applicable rules.
8. How selection will work
The recruitment notice describes a two-stage possibility.
Initial shortlisting
Candidates will initially be shortlisted on the basis of:
- Educational qualification
- Work experience
Written test
If the number of applicants is large, the authorities may conduct a written test.
This means a written test is not stated as mandatory in every case; it may be introduced if there are many candidates.
Interview
The list of shortlisted candidates for interview will be displayed on the GMCH website.
The interview is scheduled to be held at:
PIA Room, Block D, Level 2, Room No. 226, GMCH, Chandigarh.
The selected-candidate list will also be displayed on the GMCH website.
TA/DA
No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview. Candidates should therefore make their own arrangements for travel and related expenses.
Candidates are also instructed to bring hard copies of all certificates on the interview date.
9. Application form: page 3
The PDF contains an actual application form on page 3.
The form asks for:
Personal details
- Post applied for
- Photograph
- Candidate name
- Father’s name
- Date of birth

This structure is visible on page 3 of the uploaded document.
10. Contract/tenure
This is not a permanent GMCH job.
The advertisement clearly states that the assignments are purely contractual.
Initial tenure
The appointment is for:
12 months
and is extendable up to 3 years in the ESCHAR Trial.
However, extension is not presented as an unconditional guarantee; it is connected to the project and its continuation.
No right to permanent employment
The appointment does not give the candidate a right to:
- Regular appointment
- Permanent absorption in GMCH
- Absorption in DHR/ICMR
- Continued contractual appointment
