Core Roles and Responsibilities
- Quality Planning: Develop and implement quality plans, control plans, and inspection criteria aligned with project milestones (such as toll-gate or APQP - Advanced Product Quality Planning processes).
- Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential failure points early in the design cycle using tools like DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
- Design & Prototype Reviews: Participate in cross-functional design reviews to ensure manufacturability, material selection, and reliability requirements are built into the product from day one.
- Testing and Validation: Design, coordinate, and execute test plans, prototypes, and functional/durability validations to confirm performance against technical specifications.
- Regulatory & Standards Compliance: Ensure the new product meets industry-specific standards, safety codes, and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, IATF 16949).
- Supplier Quality Integration: Work with procurement and external vendors to evaluate raw materials, components, and special processes (like heat treatment or plating) before production sign-off
