About the Role
We are looking for a motivated and innovative Structural Design Engineer to join our engineering team and work on the development of deep-tech aerospace and turbomachinery products.
The role offers an opportunity to work on challenging engineering problems involving structural design, finite element analysis, and product development for advanced aerospace applications. The ideal candidate should combine strong engineering fundamentals with practical design skills, a hands-on approach to problem-solving, and a willingness to take ownership of engineering tasks from concept through validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and finite element analysis (FEA) of aerospace components, assemblies, and mechanical systems.
- Develop and validate structural designs for strength, stiffness, deformation, vibration, and fatigue requirements, as applicable.
- Use ANSYS and/or MSC NASTRAN for structural simulations and engineering assessments.
- Create and modify 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and manufacturing documentation.
- Collaborate with design, CFD, rotordynamics, manufacturing, and testing teams to develop integrated engineering solutions.
- Interpret analysis results, identify critical design issues, and recommend design improvements.
- Support design reviews, design iterations, prototype development, and engineering validation testing.
- Perform hand calculations and analytical checks to establish confidence in simulation results.
- Prepare technical reports, document assumptions, and maintain traceability of design and analysis decisions.
- Take ownership of assigned engineering activities, ensuring quality, technical rigour, and timely completion.
Required Skills and Experience
- Approximately 3 years of experience in structural engineering, mechanical design, or finite element analysis.
- Practical experience with ANSYS Mechanical and/or MSC NASTRAN.
- Good understanding of solid mechanics, strength of materials, stress analysis, and finite element methods.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, material properties, boundary conditions, and loading requirements.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good technical documentation and communication skills.
- A proactive attitude with the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Preferred Skills
- M.E./M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
- Experience in static structural, modal, harmonic, buckling, or fatigue analysis.
- Exposure to aerospace components, turbomachinery,
rotating equipment, or high-speed mechanical systems.
- Familiarity with design for manufacturing, materials selection, and engineering drawing standards.
- Experience correlating simulation results with hand calculations or experimental test data.
Desired Personal Attributes
We value engineers who demonstrate:
- Ownership: Take responsibility for assigned tasks and drive them to completion with minimal supervision.
- Innovation: Challenge conventional approaches and develop practical, creative engineering solutions.
- Teamwork: Work constructively with colleagues across different engineering disciplines.
- Learning agility: Be eager to learn current technologies, tools, and engineering methods.
- Execution focus: Translate engineering concepts into reliable, manufacturable products.
- Technical integrity: Apply sound engineering judgement, question assumptions, and maintain high standards of quality.
What We Offer
- The opportunity to work on advanced, deep-tech aerospace and turbomachinery products.
- Exposure to challenging structural design and simulation problems.
- Hands-on involvement across the product development lifecycle, from conceptual design to testing and validation.
- Collaboration with experienced engineers across structural design, CFD, rotordynamics, and product development.
- An environment that encourages innovation,
