- Ensure correct patient identification and preparation before procedures
- Perform standard 12-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) recording
- Ensure proper electrode placement and patient comfort
- Acquire high-quality ECG tracings minimizing artifacts
- Escalate abnormal findings to senior staff/clinicians
Clinical & Diagnostic Support
- Perform bedside ECGs in wards, ICU, and emergency areas
- Assist in continuous cardiac monitoring setup and lead placement
- Perform Holter monitor attachment and provide patient instructions
- Assist in treadmill test (TMT) preparation and electrode placement
- Monitor patients during ECG/TMT and report any distress immediately
Equipment & Maintenance
- Maintain, clean, and ensure proper functioning of ECG machines
- Assist in routine calibration of ECG equipment
- Report equipment issues promptly
Infection Control & Safety
- Follow infection control practices during all procedures
- Adhere to biomedical waste management guidelines
- Ensure patient safety at all times
Documentation & Information Management
- Document and label ECG recordings accurately in patient records
- Coordinate with clinicians for urgent ECG reporting
- Ensure safe handling and storage of ECG data and reports
- Maintain proper records as per hospital policy
- Collect, maintain, and ensure timely submission of quality and clinical data as required by medical administration for audits, reporting, and quality improvement initiatives

- Explain procedure to patients and obtain cooperation
- Maintain patient privacy and dignity
