Job Title: Business Analyst & Finance and Strategy

Job Type: Full Time Base

Location: Mumbai Reports to: CFO

Proposed Remuneration: 20 - 25 LPA (Flexibility Commensurate with Experience)

Job Purpose:

This role encompasses a blend of strategic, analytical, and operational responsibilities. Assisting the CFO in financial modeling and FP&A; activities. This role requires a sharp analytical mind, collaborative attitude, and the ability to plan and adapt to a dynamic business environment.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Data Management & Analysis:

- Regularly manage and analyze data, prepare reports related to logistics and the shipping industry, including port-wise volumes, commodity movements, and client analysis.
- Conduct SWOT analyses to examine risks and potentials for business opportunities.

Market Research & Business Development:

- Identify trendsetter ideas by researching industry events, publications, and announcements.
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients and understand their business needs.
- Establish rapport with potential clients and arrange meetings to explore business opportunities.
- Stay updated on industry trends and become a subject matter expert on the company's products, processes, and operations.

Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A;):

- Provide FP&A; support related to productivity, demand planning, reporting, and metrics.
- Assist in creating financial models, analyzing data, and preparing presentations for senior management.
- Partner with finance teams to collaborate on metrics, goals, and business reviews.
- Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, and proactively propose improvements.

Strategic Initiatives & Communication:

- Support strategic initiatives through analytics and business planning.
- Facilitate communication between internal and external stakeholders.




- Prepare insightful presentations that highlight analysis, identify action items, and frame decisions for senior management.

General Responsibilities:

- Handle company information with confidentiality and discretion.
- Work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Be willing to go the extra mile to achieve business targets and meet commercial objectives.

Education:

- Master’s degree in Business Administration (Finance) from a Tier 1 institute.
- Chartered Accountant (CA) or Engineer is desirable.

Experience:

- 3-5 years of relevant experience in business analysis, financial planning, and market research, preferably in the logistics or shipping industry.

Key Skills & Knowledge:

- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and conduct numerical analysis.
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial modeling.
- Solid written and oral communication skills in English and local languages.
- Good understanding of financial statements and project financial models.
- Ability to work under pressure in a performance-driven environment.
