CBSE School Principal – Job Description

Job Title: Principal
Reports to: School Management / Governing Body

Key Roles and Responsibilities

- Academic Leadership: Implement the CBSE curriculum, monitor teaching quality, and improve student learning outcomes.
- School Administration: Manage daily school operations, academic planning, infrastructure, and resources.
- Staff Management: Supervise teachers and staff, conduct performance reviews, and organize training programmes.
- Student Welfare: Maintain discipline, ensure student safety, and promote holistic development.
- CBSE Compliance: Ensure adherence to CBSE affiliation bylaws, examination rules, and statutory requirements.
- Examination Management: Monitor assessments, board examinations, academic records, and result analysis.
- Parent Relations: Conduct parent-teacher meetings and address concerns effectively.
- School Development:



Set performance goals, introduce creative teaching practices, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

- Postgraduate degree and B.Ed. or equivalent, as applicable.
- Relevant teaching and leadership experience as per applicable recruitment norms.
- Strong leadership, communication, administrative, and decision-making skills.
- Sound knowledge of the CBSE curriculum and school administration.
