Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Language Editor role based in Chennai. The Language Editor will review and refine manuscripts and other content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, clarity, consistency, and adherence to style guides. Responsibilities include editing and proofreading text for academic, qualified, and digital publishing projects, ensuring language quality and logical flow, and collaborating with project managers, authors, and other editorial team members to meet quality and delivery standards. The role involves checking references, captions, and headings for accuracy,



aligning content with client specifications, and providing constructive feedback to improve the readability and overall presentation of documents. The Language Editor will also support continuous improvement of editorial processes and maintain confidentiality and data security in line with company policies. Qualifications
• Candidates should possess strong language editing, copyediting, and proofreading skills, with a keen eye for detail and consistency.
• Candidates should possess skills in editorial review, quality control, and applying style guides (such as APA, MLA, Chicago, or journal-specific styles).
• Candidates should possess skills in content evaluation, clarity improvement, and restructuring sentences and paragraphs for better readability and logical flow.
• Candidates should possess basic digital publishing and workflow skills, including familiarity with MS Word, PDF tools, XML/HTML formats, and online editorial platforms.
• Candidates should possess communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with project managers, authors, and cross-functional teams.
• Relevant bachelor’s degree in English, Linguistics, Journalism, Communications, or a related field; advanced degrees or specialization in publishing or language studies are an added advantage.
• Prior experience in academic, STM, or professional publishing, or in a BPO/editorial environment, is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, meet tight deadlines
