Engineering & Technical Leadership
• Provide technical leadership across two Pricing Platform engineering teams.
• Guide engineers on architecture, design, implementation, testing, and production readiness.
• Participate hands-on in coding, technical design, prototyping, code reviews, and troubleshooting, as and when required.
• Review and contribute to HLD/LLD, API designs, data models, microservices, distributed-system designs, and AWS architecture.
• Ensure solutions meet expectations for scalability, reliability, performance, security, maintainability, and operational excellence.
• Work closely with Staff Engineers/Architects on significant architectural decisions.
• Drive engineering standards for Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, ReactJS, AWS, testing, code quality, and observability.
• Identify and drive resolution of technical debt and engineering risks. End-to-End Execution Ownership
• Own the overall engineering execution and delivery of initiatives assigned to the Pricing teams.
• Translate product requirements and technical designs into actionable engineering plans.
• Drive initiatives from planning → design → implementation → testing → release → production validation.
• Track execution, dependencies, technical risks, blockers, and delivery commitments.
• Proactively identify delivery risks and drive mitigation before they impact milestones.
• Coordinate dependencies with other PlayStation Commerce and platform teams.
• Ensure teams maintain an appropriate balance between delivery velocity and engineering quality.
• Own technical and engineering readiness for production releases. Team Leadership
• Lead and coordinate engineers across two engineering teams.




• Mentor engineers and support their technical growth through design discussions, code reviews, pairing, and technical guidance.
• Delegate effectively while maintaining visibility into critical engineering work.
• Create clarity around ownership, priorities, dependencies, and expected outcomes.
• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, engineering excellence, and continuous improvement.
• Act as the first point of escalation for technical and execution issues within the teams. Agile & Delivery Management
• Facilitate or support daily Scrum calls, sprint planning, refinement, retrospectives, and other engineering ceremonies when required.
• Partner with Product Managers and Engineering Managers on backlog readiness, prioritization, capacity, and delivery planning.
• Ensure stories and technical requirements are sufficiently understood before implementation.
• Track sprint execution and help remove technical and organizational blockers.
• Continuously improve the teams’ engineering and delivery processes. Production & Operational Excellence
• Drive root-cause analysis and ensure corrective and preventive actions are completed.
• Promote ownership of services throughout their lifecycle rather than treating production support as a separate responsibility. Cross-Functional Collaboration




• Work closely with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, Staff Engineers, Architects, QA/SDET, SRE/DevOps, Security, and other Commerce teams.
• Collaborate effectively with globally distributed teams.
• Communicate delivery status, dependencies, technical risks, and trade-offs clearly to stakeholders.

The Pricing Platform supports capabilities including regional pricing, discounts and promotions, price calculation, pricing rules, price publishing and distribution, price history, and core pricing platform services across multiple global markets. The Tech Lead will provide technical and execution leadership across two engineering teams and will be accountable for taking initiatives from requirements through design, development, testing, release, and production readiness. This is a highly team-oriented leadership role requiring the ability to balance people and team leadership, technical decision-making, delivery management, stakeholder coordination, and hands-on coding and design as and when required. The successful candidate should be comfortable wearing multiple hats. Depending on the needs of the teams, this may include leading technical discussions, reviewing designs and code, removing delivery blockers, coordinating dependencies, driving releases, mentoring engineers, and facilitating Scrum ceremonies.
