About the role
We are hiring a Senior QA Engineer with 4 to 5 years of experience to own quality for products that ship on web, iOS and Android. This is not a script-the-test-case role. You will be the person on the team who understands how real users behave, who questions requirements before a line of code is written, and who uses AI tools to test faster and deeper than a conventional QA process allows. You will work as an individual contributor with a high degree of ownership. You decide what to test, how to test it, and when a release is ready. In return, we expect you to be self-driven, to raise problems early, and to hold a high bar for the product without waiting to be asked. What you will do
• Own quality across web and mobile Plan, design and execute functional, regression, exploratory,
• API and crossbrowser/cross-device testing for our web application and native mobile apps (iOS and Android).
• Build and maintain automated test suites for web (e.g. Playwright or Cypress) and mobile (e.g. Appium, Detox or Maestro), and keep them running reliably in CI/CD.
• Define the release readiness criteria for each sprint and make the go/no-go call on quality. Track defects end to end, from reproduction and root-cause analysis through to verification in production. Test from the user's point of view
• Study how customers actually use the product (analytics, session recordings, support
• tickets, user feedback) and shape your test strategy around real journeys, not just
• acceptance criteria.
• Build test scenarios around edge cases users hit in practice: poor network, interrupted
• flows, device and OS fragmentation, accessibility needs, and unusual data.
• Flag usability and experience problems, not only functional bugs, and argue for the
• user when trade-offs are discussed. Step into a business analyst role when needed
• Review requirements, user stories and designs before development starts; identify
• gaps, ambiguities, conflicts and missing edge cases.

• Use AI assistants and agents to generate test cases, test data, and automation code, and to analyse logs, crash reports and defect patterns.
• Evaluate and introduce AI-powered testing tools (self-healing automation, visual testing, intelligent test selection) where they deliver real value.
• Build lightweight internal tooling or prompts that make the whole team faster at testing and triage.
• Where our products include AI features, design tests for non-deterministic behaviour, prompt quality, hallucination and safety. What we are looking for
• 4 to 5 years of hands-on QA experience, with at least 2 years testing both web applications and native or hybrid mobile apps.
• Strong manual and exploratory testing skills; you find the bugs that scripted tests miss. Demonstrated ability to analyse requirements, spot gaps, and write clear acceptance criteria and user flows; prior exposure to business analysis or product work is a strong signal.
• Evidence of using user data (analytics, session replays, support feedback) to shape testing priorities. Active, practical use ofAI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot or Cursor) in day-today QA work, and an informed opinion on where they help and where they do not.




• Clear written and spoken communication; you can explain a risk to an engineer, a product manager and a founder in terms each understands.
• Comfortable working in agile teams with short release cycles. Nice to have
• Working proficiency in test automation using at least one web framework (Playwright) and one mobile framework (Appium) Experience with API testing (Postman, RESTAssured or similar) and reading and writing basic SQL.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins or similar) and with mobile build and distribution tools (TestFlight, Play Console, Firebase App Distribution).
• Performance or load testing (k6, JMeter, Locust) and basic security testing awareness (OWASP Top 10).
• Accessibility testing against WCAG 2.1 AA on web and mobile. Experience testing products that themselves include AI or LLM features.
• Exposure to product analytics tools (Mixpanel, Amplitude, GA4) and session replay tools (Hotjar, FullStory, Clarity).
• Experience in a startup or small product team where you owned quality end to end. ISTQB or equivalent certification (practical, not required). How you work Self-motivated.
