About The Role
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Automation Engineering team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will work as an independent contributor developing design concepts for automation systems, special-purpose machines, jigs and fixtures; taking projects from concept through detailed design, manufacturing support, and customer delivery. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (Analysis, Electrical, Embedded Software, and Manufacturing) and interact directly with customers to translate their requirements into robust, cost-effective mechanical solutions.

Key Responsibilities
Develop design concepts for automation systems, special-purpose machines, and other design projects as an independent contributor. Execute end-to-end mechanical design engineering projects and provide technical solutions to customers. Create manufacturing drawings per customer standards, including GD&T;, BOM, and documentation release. Prepare engineering calculations to support designs (selection of cylinders, mounting bolts, gears, and mechanisms). Contribute to scope-understanding documents, project requirements documents, and effort estimation for proposals.



Coordinate with suppliers for component development on a need basis. Support manufacturing teams from a design perspective and resolve design issues raised during manufacturing using structured problem-solving techniques. Drive and implement cost-reduction ideas through Value Analysis / Value Engineering (VAVE). Present design concepts in internal technical reviews and customer design reviews. Own design deliverables end to end, completing self-quality checks before handover to the project leader or customer. Research assigned technical topics and prepare a consolidated presentations. Work with cross-functional teams including Analysis, Electrical, Embedded Software, and Manufacturing. Ensure adherence to quality standards and project timelines; provide project progress reports and weekly timesheets. Required Skills & Experience 5 8 years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, specifically in special-purpose machine design, automation of manual processes, jigs and fixtures design, and doors & windows design. Ability to develop concept designs from project scope documents, verbal briefs, or direct customer requirement discussions. Proficiency in 3D CAD packages (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, NX, Creo, or Inventor). Solid knowledge of assembly structuring logical grouping of parts into sub-assemblies. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing processes and a good understanding of engineering materials. Ability to prepare clear, easily understandable presentations for internal and customer design reviews. Experience working with international customers is an added advantage.
