As we prepare to launch and scale, we are looking for a dynamic, detail-oriented, and entrepreneurial Head of Accounts & Finance to establish and manage our financial operations from the ground up. Role OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on finance professional who can take complete ownership of the company's accounting, financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and financial controls. This is a startup environment, so the ideal candidate must be comfortable both designing financial processes and executing day-to-day accounting activities. The person will play a critical role in establishing a financially disciplined, transparent, and scalable business.

Key Responsibilities
1. Accounting & Financial Operations
• Set up and manage the company's end-to-end accounting function.
• Maintain accurate books of accounts, ledgers, and financial records.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations.
• Manage vendor payments, employee reimbursements, and operating expenses.
• Handle bank reconciliations, cash flow tracking, and payment processing.
• Ensure timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing. 2. Revenue Management & Business Operations
• Establish accounting systems for membership fees, subscriptions, events, and service-based revenue.
• Monitor customer collections, refunds, cancellations, and payment reconciliations.
• Track revenue across digital platforms and offline operations.




• Coordinate with operations and customer service teams to maintain accurate transaction records.
• Establish financial controls for new business models and service offerings. 3. Financial Planning & MIS
• Prepare monthly financial reports and management dashboards.
• Develop and monitor budgets, forecasts, and operational expenditure.
• Track key financial metrics, including revenue, customer acquisition costs, profitability, and cash burn.
• Provide financial insights to support business decisions.
• Monitor unit economics and identify opportunities for cost optimisation. 4. Taxation, Compliance & Audit
• Ensure compliance with applicable GST, TDS, income tax, and statutory requirements.
• Coordinate with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory advisers.
• Oversee statutory filings and maintain audit-ready financial records.
• Develop appropriate internal controls and financial policies.
• Ensure proper documentation and compliance across all financial transactions. 5. Financial Systems & Process Development
• Set up accounting software and financial reporting systems.
• Implement efficient processes for payments, billing, expense approvals, and reconciliations.
• Integrate accounting processes with the company's technology platform and payment gateways.
• Introduce automation wherever possible to reduce manual work.
• Build scalable financial processes capable of supporting expansion across multiple cities. 6. Team & Stakeholder Management
• Build and manage a small accounts and finance team as the organisation grows.
• Work closely with the Founder, CEO, and operations team.
• Coordinate with banks, vendors, auditors, and financial service providers.




• Support the leadership team with financial analysis and planning. Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance.
• CA / CA Inter / MBA Finance preferred.
• 7–12 years of relevant experience in accounting and financial management.
• Previous experience in a startup, consumer services, hospitality, technology, or subscription-based business is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of Indian accounting practices, taxation, and statutory compliance.
• Proficiency in Tally, Zoho Books, or similar accounting platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience preparing financial MIS reports.
• Experience implementing accounting systems and processes from scratch is an advantage. Ideal Candidate ProfileWe are looking for someone who is:
