Position: Project Manager – Application Development

Hyderabad Certification: PMP Certified – Mandatory Role Overview We are looking for an experienced and PMP-certified Project Manager with a strong technical background and proven experience managing application development projects. The ideal candidate should have started their career as a Software Developer, progressed into a Technical/Team Lead role, and subsequently moved into Project Management. The candidate should be able to leverage their technical foundation to effectively understand application development, manage engineering teams, engage with stakeholders, and drive projects from initiation through successful delivery. The role requires strong project management, communication, stakeholder management, risk management, and delivery skills, along with the ability to work effectively with technical and business teams.

Key Responsibilities
Project & Delivery Management
• Manage end-to-end application development projects from initiation through delivery and closure.
• Define project scope, objectives, timelines, milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
• Ensure projects are delivered within agreed scope, timeline, budget, and quality standards.
• Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, and project documentation.
• Track project progress and proactively identify and resolve delivery risks and issues.
• Manage project dependencies, priorities, changes, and escalations. Technical & Application Development Understanding
• Leverage prior software development experience to understand technical requirements, application architecture,



development processes, and delivery challenges.
• Work closely with Developers, Tech Leads, QA, DevOps, Business Analysts, and other technical teams.
• Participate in technical discussions and support teams in identifying practical solutions.
• Ensure appropriate technical and quality standards are followed throughout the project lifecycle. Team Leadership
• Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams.
• Work closely with Technical Leads and development teams to ensure effective execution.
• Support resource planning, allocation, and utilization.
• Mentor and guide team members and promote a collaborative, high-performance culture.
• Facilitate effective communication across geographically distributed teams, where applicable. Stakeholder Management
• Act as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders.
• Communicate project status, risks, issues, dependencies, and key decisions to stakeholders and leadership.
• Manage customer/business stakeholder expectations effectively.
• Conduct project reviews, governance meetings, and status calls.
• Build strong relationships with business and technology stakeholders. Risk, Issue & Change Management
• Identify, assess, track, and mitigate project risks.
• Manage project issues and ensure timely resolution.




• Evaluate change requests and assess their impact on scope, cost, timeline, and resources.
• Escalate critical risks and issues appropriately. Process & Governance
• Ensure adherence to project management methodologies, organizational processes, and governance standards.
• Drive Agile/Scrum practices across application development projects where applicable.
• Ensure project documentation, reporting, and delivery processes are maintained appropriately.
• Conduct project retrospectives and drive continuous improvement. Required Qualifications & Experience
• 12+ years of overall IT experience.
• Minimum 6 years of relevant Project Management experience.
• Candidate must have a strong background in application/software development.
• Career progression should ideally demonstrate:
• Software Developer $B"*(J Technical/Team Lead $B"*(J Project Manager.
• Proven experience managing at least 3–4 end-to-end application development projects.
• PMP certification is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
• Experience working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Solid experience in project planning, execution, delivery, risk management, and stakeholder management.
