Android Developer Kotlin

Chennai Role Overview We are looking for an experienced Android Developer with strong expertise in native Android development using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. The ideal candidate will contribute to ongoing product development initiatives, building high-quality, scalable, and performance-optimized mobile applications. The project involves Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP) with Compose Multiplatform for shared UI development. While the primary focus will be on Android, the candidate should also be capable of supporting a minimum viable iOS implementation to enable future cross-platform expansion. Candidates with experience in modern Android architecture, Compose-based UI development, and an understanding of Generative AI tools will be preferred.

Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain native Android applications using Kotlin and modern Android development practices.
• Build production-ready, responsive, and reusable user interfaces using Jetpack Compose.
• Develop and contribute to shared business logic and UI components using Kotlin Multiplatform and Compose Multiplatform.
• Support the development of a minimum viable iOS application using shared Kotlin Multiplatform components.
• Implement modern Android architecture patterns, clean code principles, and reusable software components.
• Optimize application performance, memory usage, responsiveness, and overall user experience.
• Work with Compose state management, navigation, Material Design 3, coroutines, and Flow.
• Integrate native Android components and, where required,



C/C++ libraries through JNI/JNA.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and native component issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, architects, QA engineers, and other development teams.
• Leverage Generative AI tools and AI-assisted development workflows to improve productivity and code quality.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring activities. Required Technical Skills 1. Native Android Development
• Strong hands-on experience in Kotlin and native Android application development.
• Good understanding of Android SDK, application lifecycle, threading, and memory management.
• Experience with Android architecture best practices, clean architecture, and design patterns.
• Proficiency in debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization. 2. Jetpack Compose
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience with Jetpack Compose in production applications.
• Solid understanding of declarative UI development and reusable UI components.
• Experience with Compose state management, Navigation Compose, and Material Design 3.
• Ability to develop responsive, maintainable, and high-performance user interfaces. 3.



Kotlin Multiplatform & Compose Multiplatform
• Working knowledge or hands-on experience with Kotlin Multiplatform (KMP).
• Understanding of sharing business logic and common code across Android and iOS.
• Familiarity with Compose Multiplatform for developing shared user interfaces.
• Ability to support a minimum working iOS application and understand platform-specific integrations.
• Familiarity with iOS project integration, Xcode, and Kotlin Multiplatform build workflows is an advantage. Experience Requirements Senior-Level Consultant
• 7 11 years of relevant Android/Kotlin development experience.
• Minimum 2 years of practical Jetpack Compose experience.
• Strong expertise in Android architecture, UI development, and performance optimization.
• Kotlin Multiplatform or Compose Multiplatform experience is preferred. Mid-Level Consultant
• Minimum 4 years of relevant Android/Kotlin development experience.
• Minimum 2 years of practical Jetpack Compose experience.
• Strong fundamentals in Android development, modern UI implementation, and debugging.
• Familiarity with Kotlin Multiplatform and shared UI development is desirable. Soft Skills
