Position Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented AutoCAD Revit Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role specializes in the 3D modeling, spatial coordination, and detailed design of E-Houses (Electrical Houses) and Switchgear applications, with a primary and heavy focus on electrical wiring, cable tray layouts, and complex cable routing. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between structural enclosures and electrical systems, utilizing Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD to design efficient, clash-free, and code-compliant routing pathways for high, medium, and low voltage systems within localized electrical modular buildings.
Key Responsibilities
• 3D BIM Modeling: Develop highly accurate 3D models of E-Houses, switchgear lineups (LV/MV), transformer interfaces, and auxiliary equipment using Autodesk Revit.
• Cable Routing & Wiring Design: Design detailed cable tray networks, conduits, raceways, and underground/above-ground cable routing paths inside and exiting the E-House structures.
• Spatial Coordination & Clash Detection: Conduct rigorous spatial coordination and clash detection (using Revit and Navisworks) between electrical routing, structural framing, HVAC ducting, and equipment footprints.
• Schematic to 3D Translation: Interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and cable schedules to accurately route wiring and specify optimal dropouts/terminations.
• Technical Documentation: Generate precise 2D installation drawings, construction documents, section views, bill of materials (BOM), and material take-offs (MTO) directly from the BIM model.
• Vendor & Standard Alignment:
Ensure all designs align strictly with project specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and relevant international standards (e.g., NEC, IEC, IEEE, NEMA).
• Collaboration: Work closely with Structural Engineers, Lead Electrical Engineers, and Manufacturing teams to resolve routing complexities and optimize the physical arrangement for ease of installation and maintenance. Required Skills and Qualifications
•
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting/Design, or a related technical field.
• Software Expertise:
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit (specifically Revit MEP / Electrical detailing tools).
• High proficiency in AutoCAD 2D/3D.
• Experience with Navisworks Manage for clash resolution is good to have.
• Domain Knowledge:
• Proven experience working on modular electrical enclosures (E-Houses) and Switchgear (LV/MV) equipment layout design.
• Deep understanding of electrical clearances, cable bending radii, segregation of voltage classes, and thermal fill constraints within cable trays.
•
Experience:
Minimum of 3–10 years of dedicated professional experience in BIM/electrical design engineering.
• Detail Orientation: Ability to read and interpret complex wiring schematics and translate them into a practical physical layout. Preferred Attributes
• Prior experience working directly with switchgear manufacturing or modular fabricators.
• Familiarity with agile structural-to-electrical interfaces (e.g., structural base frames, flooring gland plates, wall entry transits like Roxtec).
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under tight project timelines.
