Embedded Hardware Engineer – Electronics, Power & RF Telebortix Innovations | Noida (Delhi-NCR) | On-site | Full-time | 4–10 years About Telebortix Telebortix is a Noida (Delhi-NCR)-based defence-technology startup building autonomy-first unmanned systems for the Indian Armed Forces and dual-use markets. Our stack spans GNSS-denied navigation, an indigenous edge autopilot, sensor fusion, multi-agent swarm coordination and full flight and ground autonomy, fielded on tactical UAVs, heavy-lift VTOL platforms and unmanned ground vehicles. The founding team brings more than a decade of applied autonomy research from Carnegie Mellon University and its National Robotics Engineering Center, across agricultural, aerospace and military programmes. Our systems are in active trials with the Indian Army, and we are scaling from prototype to production. The autonomy stack is the product, and it runs on hardware we design ourselves. The role You will be the hardware authority at Telebortix: the engineer who takes a system requirement to a schematic, a multilayer board, a bring-up bench and a vehicle that flies. The role is deliberately broad, spanning digital and mixed-signal boards, power electronics, sensor interfaces and RF, and it is weighted toward hardware design and implementation rather than embedded software. You will work alongside our firmware and autonomy engineers, own the electronics from concept to field, and set the hardware standards the company grows on. You report directly to the Founder & CEO. What you will do Circuit and PCB design
• Own schematic capture, component selection, layout and release for flight computers, autopilot and sensor carrier boards, power distribution boards, ESC and motor-drive interfaces and custom sensor modules.
• Design multilayer (6–12+ layer) boards with controlled impedance, high-speed interfaces (MIPI CSI, PCIe, USB 3, Gigabit Ethernet, LVDS) and dense BGA/QFN fan-out; manage stack-up, DFM/DFA and vendor coordination for fabrication and assembly.
• Design for the environment the board will live in: vibration, thermal extremes, altitude, EMI/EMC and ingress, with conformal coating, potting and derating strategies. Power electronics
• Design battery-to-rail power trees for 6S–14S Li-ion/Li-Po and hydrogen fuel-cell hybrid systems: DC-DC converters, hot-swap and ideal-diode ORing, inrush and reverse-polarity protection, current sensing and telemetry.
• Design BMS interfaces, charge and balance circuits,
and high-current distribution for multirotor and heavy-lift VTOL platforms.
• Analyse thermal and efficiency budgets; specify connectors, cabling and bus bars for high-current paths. RF and antenna
• Design RF front-ends and antennas for custom radar and sensing modules, telemetry and datalink radios, and GNSS receivers, including impedance matching, filtering and PCB antennas and arrays.
• Perform RF simulation (HFSS, CST or similar), VNA measurement, tuning and field validation; manage co-site interference and EMI on compact airframes. Bring-up, validation and production
• Lead board bring-up: power sequencing, clock and interface validation, signal-integrity and power-integrity measurements, and root-cause debug with oscilloscope, logic analyser, spectrum analyser and thermal camera.
• Write test plans and build bench fixtures and automated test jigs; support environmental and EMI/EMC qualification for military use.
• Work with the firmware team on bring-up code, driver bring-up and hardware-in-the-loop setups; generate and maintain BOMs, fabrication packages, assembly drawings and revision control.
• Support field trials and customer demonstrations; diagnose and fix hardware issues on the vehicle at the trial site. What we are looking for We weight boards you designed that went to fabrication, were brought up by you and shipped in a real product or flew on a real vehicle far above coursework, simulations or reviews of other people's designs.
• B.
Tech/M.
Tech in Electronics, Electrical, Instrumentation or a related field.
• 4–10 years designing electronics hardware, with a portfolio of multilayer PCBs you took from schematic through layout, fabrication, bring-up and production or field use.
• Subject-matter depth across embedded electronics and power electronics: you can derive a power tree, size a converter, spec a MOSFET and protection scheme, and explain why a board failed.
• Strong analogue and mixed-signal fundamentals: signal integrity, power integrity, grounding and return paths, EMI/EMC-aware layout, thermal design.
• Fluency in a professional EDA toolchain (Altium Designer preferred; KiCad,
Cadence or OrCAD acceptable) and simulation tools (LTspice/PSpice, thermal and SI/PI tools).
• Hands-on with lab instruments and comfortable debugging on the bench and in the field.
• Enough embedded-software literacy to bring up a board, read a datasheet with the firmware engineer and write small test scripts in C or Python; this is not a firmware role.
• Clear documentation habits: schematics, test reports, BOMs and ECOs that someone else can build from.
• Indian citizen, willing to work on-site in Noida and travel for field trials. All roles involve work on defence programmes. Nice to have
• RF and antenna design
experience:
radar front-ends (FMCW at 24, 60 or 77 GHz, or lower-band), PCB antennas and small arrays, LNA/PA stages, matching networks, VNA and anechoic measurement.
• Carrier board design for NVIDIA Jetson or similar SoMs; FPGA integration (Xilinx/AMD, Lattice) for sensor interfacing.
• Motor drive and ESC design, BLDC control stages, gate-drive and high-current layout.
• Experience with MIL-STD-810 and MIL-STD-461 qualification, conformal coating, potting and ruggedisation.
• Mechanical and thermal co-design: enclosure fit, heat-sinking and airflow for airborne electronics; basic CAD (SolidWorks or Fusion 360).
• Sensor integration: IMUs, barometers, magnetometers, GNSS, LiDAR, cameras (MIPI/GMSL), ultrasonic and radar modules.
• Prior work on UAV, aerospace, automotive or other safety-critical hardware programmes.
• Patents, published work or open-source hardware you can show.
What we offer
• Ownership of the company's hardware from day one, with direct access to the founder and to the end user.
• Boards you design flying in front of the customer within weeks, not quarters; regular field trials rather than a bench-only loop.
• A funded lab and the freedom to specify the tools and instruments you need.
• Competitive salary benchmarked to the role, with ESOPs for strong performers.
• Learning budget, conference travel and support for patents where programme sensitivity allows.
• Health insurance, paid leave and relocation assistance to Noida where needed. Details
