Role Description The Head of Music at Fifth Studio is a part time role (to begin with) based in Mumbai, with opportunity to become one of the core founding team. This person is building out our vertical on music. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing music selection and supervision for projects across TV, OTT, microdrama, and film, ensuring alignment with creative and production needs. The role involves managing music licensing processes, coordinating with rights holders, labels, composers, and legal teams to secure clearances within budget and deadlines. The Head of Music will collaborate closely with directors, producers, and editors to plan and execute music strategies, support music production workflows, and maintain organized music asset libraries and documentation. • Strong love for Music, with the ability to understand genre, mood, and storytelling through sound.
• Deep interest/ Experience in music licensing, including rights management, contracts, and negotiations.
• Practical knowledge of Music Production processes, workflows, and collaboration with composers, sound designers, and studios.
• Clear and professional Communication skills for coordinating with creative teams, legal stakeholders, and external partners.
• Familiarity with film, TV, and OTT production environments; prior experience in media or entertainment is an advantage.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a hybrid work setting.
• Comfort using digital tools for documentation, project management, and audio asset management.
• Relevant education or training in music, audio production, media, or a related field is beneficial.
