Chennai (Hybrid) JD: The role involves conducting an independent assessment and modernization of the current automation framework and platform, evaluating technology stack and practices, identifying gaps and technical debt, and defining a prioritized roadmap for improvements while guiding the existing QA/automation team. Responsibilities
• Conduct an independent assessment of the current automation framework, architecture, codebase, and overall automation platform.
• Evaluate the existing Java-Selenium technology stack, framework design, coding standards, reusable components, test data management, reporting, and execution strategy.
• Assess automation coverage, stability, maintainability, scalability, execution time, and overall ROI.
• Review integration with CI/CD pipelines, test environments, source control, reporting, and defect management tools.
• Identify technical debt, bottlenecks, duplication, flaky tests, and architectural limitations.
• Benchmark the current approach against industry best practices and recommend appropriate improvements.
• Evaluate opportunities for AI/GenAI, Playwright, and other modern automation capabilities, where relevant.




• Define a prioritized improvement and modernization roadmap, including quick wins, medium-term improvements, and strategic recommendations.
• Provide recommendations on framework architecture, technology choices, engineering practices, governance, and team structure.
• Conduct knowledge-sharing sessions with the existing QA/automation team and guide them on recommended improvements. Qualifications
• 10+ years of QA Automation experience, with strong Automation Architecture experience. Required Skills
• Deep expertise in Java and Selenium and enterprise automation framework design.
• Solid understanding of framework patterns, design principles, reusable components, and automation engineering practices.
• Experience assessing and modernizing large-scale automation platforms.
• Strong CI/CD experience with tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar.
• Experience with test reporting, parallel execution, cloud/grid execution, test data, and environment management.
• Strong understanding of Agile/DevOps and enterprise QA processes.
• Exposure to Playwright and AI/GenAI-based automation is highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical, communication, stakeholder-management, and presentation skills.
