Job Summary

The Bus Driver is responsible for safely transporting students, faculty members, and staff between designated locations according to the college transport schedule. The driver must ensure vehicle safety, punctuality, proper maintenance, and compliance with traffic rules and institutional policies.

1. 2. Key ResponsibilitiesOperate the college bus safely and responsibly according to the assigned route and schedule.
2. Pick up and drop off students and staff at designated stops on time.
3. Follow all traffic rules, road safety regulations, and speed limits.
4. Conduct daily vehicle inspections, including brakes, tyres, lights, fuel, oil, and coolant levels.
5. Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the bus.
6. Report vehicle defects, breakdowns, accidents, and maintenance requirements immediately to the Transport In-charge.
7. Maintain trip sheets, logbooks, fuel records, kilometre readings, and other required documents.
8. Ensure that the bus has valid insurance, registration,



fitness certification, pollution certificate, and other applicable documents.
9. Follow the approved college transport schedule and obtain permission before making any route changes.
10. Maintain courteous and qualified behaviour with students, parents, faculty, and staff.
11. Ensure student safety while boarding, travelling, and getting down from the bus.
12. Avoid mobile phone use while driving and never drive under the influence of alcohol or other intoxicating substances.
13. Report to duty on time and maintain regular attendance.
14. Perform other transport-related duties assigned by the management.
