Job Purpose/ Summary

Lead and develop the quality team, coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Purchase, and Sales departments, and ensure timely inspection, testing, documentation, and release of products as per approved specifications.

To lead the Quality & Process Control Department and ensure consistent product quality, process stability, compliance with applicable standards, customer specifications, and statutory requirements. The role is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective quality management systems, controlling manufacturing processes, reducing rejection and rework, and driving continuous improvement across the production cycle of stainless steel pipes and tubes.

Responsibility

Develop implement and maintain the Quality Management System QMS in accordance with ISO 9001 and applicable industry standardsbrEnsure compliance with relevant product standards and customer specifications such as ASTM ASME EN and other applicable standards for stainless steel pipes and tubesbrOversee incoming material inspection inprocess inspection final inspection and product releasebrEnsure proper verification of raw materials including stainless steel coils strips plates filler wires and other consumables as applicablebrReview material test certificates MTCs chemical composition mechanical properties dimensional reports and traceability recordsbrEstablish inspection plans quality control plans sampling procedures acceptance criteria and inspection checkpointsbrEnsure effective implementation of corrective and preventive actions for internal and customerreported quality issuesbrMonitor and control critical manufacturing processes establishing process parameters operating limits inspection frequencies and process control standards in coordination with Production and EngineeringbrMonitor critical process variables to maintain dimensional accuracy surface finish mechanical properties and product consistencybrEnsure proper calibration verification and maintenance of measuring instruments gauges testing equipment and inspection systemsbrAnalyse process deviations and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrencebrConduct process capability studies and statistical process control SPC wherever applicablebrOversee laboratory and inspection activities including chemical analysis tensile testing hardness testing dimensional inspection and metallurgical examination as applicablebrEnsure effective implementation of nondestructive testing NDT such as eddy current testing ultrasonic testing hydrostatic testing and other specified examinations as required by the applicable product standard and customer requirementsbrReview and approve inspection and test reports certificates of conformity and other quality documents within the assigned authoritybrEnsure complete product identification heat number traceability batch records and documentation from raw material receipt to finished product dispatchbrCoordinate thirdparty inspections customer inspections certification audits and product qualification activitiesbrInvestigate customer complaints analyse root causes and implement effective corrective actionsbrCoordinate with Sales Production and Technical teams to resolve customer quality concerns and provide timely responsesbrMonitor supplier quality performance and coordinate supplier corrective actions for nonconforming raw materials and consumablesbrParticipate in customer audits technical discussions product approvals and quality improvement initiativesbrReview customer specifications purchase orders drawings and technical requirements before production and dispatchbrPlan and conduct internal quality audits process audits product audits and system auditsbrCoordinate external audits by certification bodies customers and regulatory or inspection agenciesbrMaintain quality procedures work instructions inspection formats control plans test records and document revision controlbrEnsure control of nonconforming products including identification segregation disposition rework and reinspectionbrReview and update procedures in line with revised standards customer requirements and changes in manufacturing processesbrPromote riskbased thinking and preventive quality planning through tools such as CAPA and root cause analysisbrDrive initiatives to reduce rejection rework scrap customer complaints and process variationbrImplement quality improvement tools such as PDCA Kaizen 5 Why analysis Fishbone diagrams Pareto analysis and SPCbrTrack and analyse quality performance data to identify recurring defects and improvement opportunitiesbrWork with Production Maintenance Engineering and Supply Chain teams to improve process reliability and product consistencybrDevelop action plans to improve firstpass yield rightfirsttime production and overall manufacturing efficiencybrLead train and develop the Quality Assurance Quality Control Process Inspection and Laboratory teamsbrDefine departmental objectives responsibilities competency requirements and performance targetsbrEnsure adequate manpower inspection resources testing facilities and departmental coverage across shiftsbrCoordinate with Production Maintenance Purchase Stores Sales and Dispatch teams to resolve quality and processrelated issuesbrPromote a culture of quality ownership discipline accountability and continual improvement throughout the organisation
